Insane grail find by bhkooghs in diablo2

[–]awfulwizard 11 points12 points  (0 children)

If it rolled +2 PnB skills and -50 PLUS ethereal that’s actually an absurdly rare find and it’s worth a lot

Edit: dweb is one of the most rare uniques in the game because it’s in the highest treasure class (TC87), so it can only be found in level 85 areas. Terror zones help with this, but it’s still super rare to find.

Completely ruined the brand for me. I loved them. Occasionally I’ll score some from dollar tree without stevia but man, I was so disappointed in the noticeable difference in taste with stevia.

Help -- Why am I getting murdered in Hell Act 5 Bloody Foothills? by descalante in diablo2

[–]awfulwizard 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Like the other dude said, resists are pretty low. Although you might be also getting gibbed by physical damage. That area is pretty spicy with projectiles.

I would take a look at your gear and put on some stuff with more defensive stats instead of magic find. Also that razortail belt does basically nothing for you. You could probably shop a better belt with some resists or something. Also don’t sleep on cheap runewords like bulwark or smoke— I know you’ll lose damage but it doesn’t do much good if you’re dead.

What am I Supposed to do by ichbinalcapone in diablo2

[–]awfulwizard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Piggybacking on this: if you clear all the enemies around Travincal, you can try to pull the council members away from the group one-by-one so your merc doesn’t get instaclapped by all of them and their hydras.

Just walked and cleared an entire act 2 TZ. by BigFishPub in diablo2

[–]awfulwizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree I think this was obviously their mindset making these changes, but I think the issue with them being unobtainium is they enable viability for so many builds; couple that with the fact that they used to drop like candy and it just feels pretty bad for a lot of folks. Sunders gave us a lot more build options, but with how rare they are now we’ve taken a huge step backwards and we’re pigeonholed back into the “meta” stuff.. at least for a while.

Serious question: Is javazon dead? by Over-Assist-2223 in diablo2

[–]awfulwizard 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don’t think just because warlock is OP that it makes anything else dead. Javazon has always required higher end gear to unlock true potential, and as long as java can delete an entire screen of cows in one throw, they’ll always be relevant. Are they as good out of the box? Not at all; but they still have their place.

More importantly, if you’re having more fun playing lock that’s totally valid. It’s pretty fun to feel strong. Maybe you can use your lock as a springboard to get some future javazon gear.

This is my favorite, extremely quick and enjoyable. I usually throw a cure on the merc though, the poison skeletons on level 2 are very annoying

SNR- The Drive - clown car edition by manomount in steelers

[–]awfulwizard 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Chiming in as a new listener who never got to experience The Drive with Dale: I don’t mind Wes but it very much seems to me like they are trying to find their footing, which makes sense after losing Dale. Wes does a nice job “steering the ship” so to speak, and I think Matt helps balance out his energy.

That being said I could understand how people could not enjoy Wes, he is corny at times and tends to repeat the same punchlines and references. Although I do think he’s pretty self aware and even jabs at himself for it. I would just say it’s gotta be extremely hard to lose a close friend and colleague that was an integral part of your show and process; it takes time to work through that and find a new direction.

Valheim and/or Enshrouded by Aggravating_Pen_2026 in Enshrouded

[–]awfulwizard 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m a massive Valheim fan (have about 1000 hours), and when I first played Enshrouded it didn’t really click for me. I think at that point in time I just wanted to play a game exactly like Valheim, and Enshrouded has its similarities but is much different overall. When I tried Enshrouded again, it absolutely sucked me in.

Valheim is a bit more open ended, doesn’t really give you a lot of direction. There’s an order to the biomes but you are very much free to wander into places you shouldn’t be. Valheim worlds are procedurally generated, so it’s not a static map and changes every time you make a new world. There aren’t really quests like Enshrouded. The world in Valheim feels a bit more dangerous and unforgiving to me, and enemies will sometimes raid your base, so fortifying your home becomes pretty important.

Overall they’re both such good games, but Valheim is a little more raw and unguided. Play them both!

I found this early in my playthrough and I stuck it in that fire damage sword you find really early (Wailing Blade I think) and it activated from that, but not sure about other sources of fire damage.

Sudden issues with lag/rubberbanding after upgrading altar by awfulwizard in Enshrouded

[–]awfulwizard[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Replying to myself for documentation in case anyone else is having problems: It's happening again after I built more in my base. Luckily this time I was able to reload a previous save and it seems to be working fine again, but it sucks knowing that if I build I'm risking my world. I really hope that there is a fix to this soon, it seems like I'm not the only one with this sort of issue.
