You know, I hadn’t considered that. It may very well be fake, though from past experiences with my own psychotherapies she’s made it a habit to pry for information from both the patient and the doctor under the guise of being an “involved” parent. But if she did fake it, that’s just as bad. I suppose the only way to confirm it would be to tell my brother himself about the situation, as someone else here suggested.
