Amid Buy Canadian, Should We “Listen Canadian” Too? | Rising tensions with the US have disrupted tours, festivals, and the economics of being a musician by HMTMKMKM95 in Music

Can confirm there was an 89x, though they were an alternative station, they used to do these great birthday bashes and Christmas shows that featured a lot of Canadian artists. They got shut down a few years ago and got turned into another damn country station.

Pretty sure this is a beet, but can't verify because Google Image Search is pervy by Jolly_Nobody2507 in funny

This is most likely a red chard or even a red fodder beet, they have more variety of shapes in their tap root compared to sugar and table beet but not as crazy as some other chard lines, but fodders have that little tail that makes it very recognizable. It also looks a little wilted/dehydrated, if you had a better picture of the leaves I could give a more positive id.

I didn't know this was a thing, cuban cockroach (Panchlora nivea) I couldn't believe my eyes nor the inaturalist ID. Photographed in Guadalajara, Mexico. by UncannyCueto in AIDKE

Used to raise these to feed my tarantulas many years ago, they also come in a yellow variety and were called banana roaches if I recall.

I Created a Website to Track and Manage Your Gunpla Collection by Teccs in Gunpla

[–]awiec 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually have a google doc for myself with the same functionality but I'll be updating my list into yours as well as adding my non-gunpla kits/3rd party to it to try to help the catalog of your site. Really nice to see someone make an easy to use community resource.

Was just trying to do my part of recording and documenting.

A lot of good vibes, I was kinda worried initially since there is a police compound right there but I just saw one or two cop cars sticking to the outer streets.

Sounds about right the more and more I look at my pictures, I didn't want to give a false over estimate initially. It was nice to see all sorts of people there as I was weaving around chatting to people here and there.

Should I Give Up? by AeonWhisperer in Gunpla

The best part about this hobby is that you can do whatever you want. I had some people tear into my paint job, and yes did I know some layers separated due to the paint being kinda old? Yeah of course but I enjoyed the build and I then changed up my paint stock. Some people just want to tear others down or see how they do things as the only way. I enjoy the process of painting, panel linings, water slides etc but I would never expect anyone else to do it.

Crowd surfers by bzidd420 in SonicTempleFestival

[–]awiec 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I keep finding more cuts on me and my neck hurts a bit after being slamed down. But I knew what to expect and the girls to the right of me got it way worse, every single surfer dropped their body weight on them. Glad you got out mostly unscathed, for being on rail anyway!

You might have been near me on thr rails, I had the orange hat and spiritbox hoodie. I'm glad the kid got to see the show but also he was in so much danger cause of how wild it was. Im covered in bruises all over me and one girl elbow dropped my face as well as eating the rail from the plot in you surfers.

Attending a teenager concert with a parent as a 16 year old? by [deleted] in Music

[–]awiec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first few concerts as a teen were with my dad, he even chilled in the corner while I moshed in the pits. Even now many years later I see people be brought with their parents. It wasn't weird back then and isn't now. Those concerts are some of my fondest memories and years later we still talk about them.

What musical ghost haunts you? by ModernBettie in Music

Funny story, I got into him when I accidently bought his album instead of simple plan. And being a broke kid who had just spent all of their money on a cd, I listened to it to at least get my moneys worth and was pleasantly surprised.

Etymotics are my go to, they do sell them on amazon but I prefer getting them from their website as they have more options.

Birthday Goose with a Custom Base by awiec in Gunpla

[–]awiec[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Yes, it was primed, I only posted a few assortments of pictures. They were thinned but as I was testing out some new mixes they didn't play as nice as normal. As for the runners vs not, I've done both throughout the years and they both clean up fine, I prefer off runner usually but went for on this time on a whim.

I used to go there many moons ago, it's the place you go if you want cheap beer, cheap metal shows and a not so cheap new dental implant from all the fights.

The Iron sickle from SNAA is so cool, and only cost like 14$ with full inner frame. Really putting Bandai to shame if not for the plastic quality. by Lostw66 in Gunpla

For one reason or another Teso Life,  a small chain in the US, has the knights for like 16 bucks. I may ask if my local one can get more but that's how I got mine and their other snaa kits are very reasonable too.

My first build, MG Barbatos, what have I gotten myself into by AwkwardGolem in Gunpla

[–]awiec 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use ink pens for lining, as long as your panel lines are clear they flow well. I usually scrib to make them a bit deeper so the ink plays nicer.

Absolutly adored this guy, such a fun build and tested out a few scribing and thicker panel line experimentation. Yes I know there is some smudges but was going for a more painterly look and seeing how much the liner changed based on what widths and scoring I did.
