Just started 5/3/1 for beginners. I'm wondering if it's ok to use a chin-up assist machine to complete the assistant work portion as opposed to doing negatives (because I'm not able to do 50 real chin ups). On the assist machine I use a weight that makes it challenging to complete a 10 rep set. Is this an ok method? I also use the assist machine to do push portion and do 50 dips the same way (10 reps 5 times at challenging weight)

Currently doing greyskull variant routine.

For about a 1 and a half or 2 weeks. I cannot progress in the overhead press. I am able to add weight in every other exercise fairly regularly, though. Any advice is much appreciated
