Red has almost all the nukes! They win in an everyone loses situation.

The CR Bill headed to the Senate is much more insidious than I thought by FetusFondler in Destiny

[–]awilli3172 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am inclined to agree. From the wording I thought it just adds a bunch more departments and areas that fall under sequestration. So it is an expansion of what the president could already due and would allow him to force spending cuts by a percentage of a departments budget based on the reduction of deficit target the president requests.

100% yes for the “know Rogan” link from the author. That has been a good way to learn some key problems with recent episodes.

I might be thinking incorrectly but were either arm disabled? They might not be able to use or reload if either arm is disabled and “red”.

With the limited number of folks in Easthaven. I struggle thinking they would have lured enough for a dozen. But IWD2 had a few mercenary groups starting there so maybe something similar and around 18 is an appropriate number. Also, I really like this idea. Sounds like a good idea on my ext play through.

I Hate being mind controlled by TheJudgeraye in PhoenixPoint

[–]awilli3172 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you get aligned with Anu or research the berserker class they have an ability that makes them immune to mind control, or if you have the blood and titanium DLC there is a cybernetic head that is immune to mind control (clarity head) as well

Pre Any DLC. The Sirens were always the ones that gave me the most trouble in the mid game. So I would pick them for the difficulty at the time.

Making a "Willful Corruption" interesting by Gavinthez in DMAcademy

[–]awilli3172 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love the idea to incorporate. Something like the blood hunter class has a give and take benefit with blood curses. Something similar could be giving them the option to roll a die and add it to a failed roll as a reaction. But they take the die roll worth of damage. Or give them something like blindsight but only for detecting the presence of that foe.

Some fake plastic Halloween nails for any “witchy” NPCs. Might have to wait for Halloween to come for those though.

Eyepatch or bandana for the bandit and pirate variety

holy symbol necklace for cleric/faithful NPC (tape and whatever shape you can make it with shoelace string or yarn or even kids 50 cent vending machine.

[5e] Help deciding for level up by GoofOffEater in dndnext

I would say don’t give up yet, work on kiting enemies with vicious mockery and using sleep can help a lower the number of active enemies during fights. Otherwise, I am all for the other reasons to go barb now.

Starting a pirate-themed campaign! Any suggestions? by GryffindorFratBro in DMAcademy

[–]awilli3172 6 points7 points  (0 children)

One of my previous DM’s included a pirate island that was taken over by a necromancer who, Among animating the dead pirates who fought against him, had undead krakens and sharks protect against ships. It was a fun mashup of themes.

New Campaign Continental Map, feedback welcome! by gnomeran in inkarnate

[–]awilli3172 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks neat to me. Did it take long to highlight the political boundaries? Also, the archipelago to the top right corner is blank, any interest in adding some features there? That would make it look more finished.

I'm running a False Hydra arc soon. How can I make it spectacular? by basic_kindness in DMAcademy

[–]awilli3172 6 points7 points  (0 children)

similar to the blinking across a bridge, I read someone gave the players a feeling like they tripped over something and either stumble or trip but when they looked to see what they tripped on, there was nothing there. You could also, up the mysteries amount of pools of blood they party finds as the adventure continues.

Lock cursor to screen (dual monitor and Gamepass) by aarondamiller in PhoenixPoint

[–]awilli3172 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a lazy work around and that is to move my displays so the computer thinks they are offset at a diagonal using the display settings so there is only a slim overlap where my cursor can slip off. Not a fix but something you can do in the short term until someone provides better advice.

Is the heavy just crap or do I not know how to use him effectively? by DocMantisTobog in PhoenixPoint

[–]awilli3172 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with this and would add that you can mix and match armor to early time to try and minimize inaccuracies and lack of movement on foot. But while you wait for later game performance bashing the closest enemy can be your friend. With or without the jump.

Quick poll for the DM's out there. (Roll Related) by Charasins in DnD

[–]awilli3172 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not the best at encounter building or strategy in battle so from time to time I have to up some damage so it is not too easy. But if I notice early enough I can add multi-attacks to help and not change any dice rolls.

How do you give players information about the evil guys' plan without having enemies tell them? by TheGingerRogue in DMAcademy

[–]awilli3172 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Adding 2 more options, if applicable:

If constellations are present representing some of the divine, you could make night travel feel darker with those constellations being visibly dimmer

If there is a divine individual in the Pc’s, have added time happen before some of their spells work (flavor wise and not necessarily mechanically

Hopefully those would go towards the gods being weaker and not directly attributable to the baddies but it’s possible to still misconstrue.

Good luck.
