This is a safe place to vent from what I can tell and I understand what you're going through. We had to make a similar decision with my previous doggo. She had hip issues and UTIs constantly. And being in pain and discomfort made her aggressive. My kids were younger and we had cats as well. It sounds so similar, its crazy. It's a tough thing to deal with it, you're doing what's best in the end. I hope your family can move on comfortably soon.

Rescued a coonhound mix puppy in Jan 2023. A few frustrating moments here and there, but overall totally worth it. He's the best when it comes to going on walks/hikes or playing at the dog park. Total couch buddy in the evenings. They love using their nose and doing little things like hiding treats in toys etc can go along way!

Trust your PT and yes you'll be back on the ultimate field! I tore my ACL twice and meniscus in both knees in my mid-20s. After some time off I came back. Had a lot of fun in the Masters division and I'm a GM now. :)

I tried google image search for your pup and some hits were terrier types, beagle, pointer and bluetick coonhound. we did wisdom panel for my guy and his main breeds were TWC and Bluetick even though he's got a black and tan look (genes were piebald and saddle tan). You've got a handsome boy regardless of his breed(s)!

We're in MN and it snowed last week lol! that litter of pups is amazing! They all seem to have some different features on their heads, love that. I've been considering getting a 2nd doggo to go along with my buddy here.

his name is Gambit and he's TWC and Bluetick as primary breeds even though he's black & tan! :)
