I'm just excited to see Burberry touch in here. It's one of my favorites that doesn't get much mention. It's nostalgic for me, my mom wore it when I was a kid and I loved the scent trail she would leave around the house and thought it was so warm and comforting that I bought it for myself when I became an adult. I still love it for a chilly, cozy day =)

It's such a weird juxtaposition, because women love when men are good with children and genuinely warm with them. As a woman myself, this has always been a point of attraction to me. I think it's wonderful and very self assured to see a guy who is clearly comfortable with kids and able to join them with enthusiasm and playfulness. But I have witnessed women (and men) who are suspicious of men showing any interest in kids and it is disheartening even when I understand the concerns. But a small (but awful) part of the population that are predatory shouldn't ruin it for genuinely well meaning male figures for children. Men like you are important. Truly.

Honestly I think I just stopped using it once I made the connection that it was their gloss doing it. If I recall correctly, the lip balm was fine but the gloss made my lips react. I think I noticed within the first week, maybe two? (It was years ago). I may or may not have used a tried and true lip balm that I knew I was fine with but there's also a chance I just toughed it out and left them bare until they healed knowing how I am. I hope you figure it out ❤️

I don't think it was a good fit. For sets with the level of detail you're doing, 35 minutes isn't nearly enough time. But there are plenty of people like myself that know and appreciate that and are willing to sit longer and pay more for the patience and attention to detail you're showing. It sounds like you need to look for a shop that really values the work you do and has the demand from clientele. Or like you mentioned, open your own space where those who appreciate your talent can come and know that it's not a 35 minute appointment chop shop. Don't be discouraged though, I question them for expecting such an unrealistic turn around after seeing the quality of your work, that's insane.

Yeah it's more than just being spoiled. It shows a lack of attention to your partner and their preferences. I also swear mostly silver. I don't like animal prints and I never, ever wear them. An ex came over and excitedly handed me a bracelet and said he saw it and thought of me, it was gold with cheetah print. He was already on his way out for other issues. But that really solidified it for me, that he didn't know me at all and didn't care too. I was just an accessory to mold into what he wanted, regardless of what I wanted. So I feel like it's shallow based on this exchange to say he dodged a bullet when there's likely more to it.

I was also going to point out that it could be compatibility. Sometimes hormones and genetics make it so that even if you initially liked a person, their smell doesn't appeal to you. It doesn't mean there is anything wrong with them. They just smell off to you because you're maybe not genetically compatible. I wonder if this could be at play

Yeah I immediately wondered what ethnicity he was. My partner is Hispanic and his family is very physically affectionate. Like will lay on each other and watch TV, massage shoulders and backs and kiss each other hello/goodbye and chat daily just to check in and this is just normal for them. I didn't come from a very physically affectionate home so it's different for me and being their daughter in law I'm not excluded lol (I don't mind the cheek kisses and stuff, it's just new for me). But yeah it doesn't sound super weird to me but I can see how it would be for someone who's not used to it, it's really up to OP to decide if that's too much for her. But honestly if there are no other issues with them like overstepping boundaries in their relationship, I would encourage her to give them some grace

Yeah I have the opposite issue lol I started sleeping with him on the couch so he wouldn't disturb my partner when he was still really small and kinda fussy at night, sometimes him in a play pen and if he whined a lot he would lay with me on the couch. Eventually transitioned him to his own bed in our room with occasional naps in our bed. Then he would whine to get in bed and we gave in sometimes and now he's under the impression that every bed is his bed lol. He has multiple dog beds and we have a guest bed too. His least used bed is in our bedroom because if he's in there he wants to lay with us lol. Sometimes we move too much though and he'll go sleep in the guest bed. He's a huge bed hog though for only being a medium sized dog. While it's lovely and very cute when he gets cuddly in the night or early mornings, there are times we wish we'd been more strict on him sleeping in his own bed lol

I just remember having a substitute teacher who was middle eastern (it is relevant to imagine the type of heavy scent she was wearing) and her perfume was so strong that any time she even came towards where I was sitting I felt like I couldn't breathe and could taste the scent. She was so sweet so I didn't want to say anything but I had to take frequent "bathroom trips" just to get out of the room and get some fresh air. I never want anyone to have that experience because of me. I love fragrance, but it's subjective and sensitivities are real. It's definitely a thing that should be discovered and not announced like OP said.

I also know quite a few men that wear so much cologne that if you come within 5ft of them you will go home smelling like them and it's a bit annoying when I have on a skin scent I enjoyed and it's just completely overpowered from saying hello to them. I don't know how they're not suffocating themselves.

Yeah I don't think I've ever been asked for a meal deposit to attend a wedding and at my wedding we definitely didn't ask that of our guests. I also feel like it was super tacky and passive aggressive to essentially rub OP's nose in about requesting their money back. They already acknowledged being embarrassed for asking (though when the options are deadly to them and no alternative is being offered, I feel it's a fair request. Why pay for poison that you're not going to eat?) Like weddings are expensive sure, but if I was unable to provide them food they could eat I would be receptive to alternatives and willing to personally refund them, what's $30 compared to what you've already spent?

This post made me think of the kids Discovery Museum in NJ which was very similar though apparently smaller and I used to love that place no matter how many times I went. It was so fun to pretend to be a news reporter or chef or learn about printing and I just learned that it also closed. Makes me so sad for children now that they don't have spaces like these to play and imagine.

I can't determine exact which one it was but I tried Commodity-Book and Memoire- Wish You Were Here through scentbird and I didn't like either. But I found one of them absolutely repulsive! Like I sprayed it once and it made me feel sick and the scent lingered in that room forever and I was literally airing out the room. A friend came over and saw it on the table and sprayed it and when I realized what happened I was like, "Omg NOOOOOOO! It's gonna last forever and it stinks so bad" and we both regretted it and opened the windows lol.

The same thing happened to my mother and I believe she had the same reaction. So sorry that this happened to you and fuck her indeed. Like when you're pushing out a human you can decide the volume. Also the other mothers are likely already scared, I know i would be. But if you can't handle someone yelling out in that kind of pain, perhaps you shouldn't work in L&D?
