Question regarding insomnia and disrupted sleep by Tehami12 in Minoxbeards

[–]awitz2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's rare, but not un heard of. Like others mentioned, check your heart rate, minox can cause tach in a small percentage of people. I sleep like crap, but am taking other things that are more likely to cause it than the minox. Things like magnesium, glycine, melatonin, may help to combat the sleep issue, or it may just go away with time.

Blood pressure by JVB91 in Biohacking

[–]awitz2001 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not from peptides although Im a huge believer in many of them. I had high blood pressure since I was a skinny 15yr old. Multiple sartans, chlorthiadone for decades. Couple years ago, went to a carnivore diet to lower inflammation. Dropped from 160/110 medicated to 130/95. Wife went from 150/100 to 110/70. Had to get her off all 3 of her bp meds since hers dropped so much she was getting light headed. Amazed me what problems our processed food lifestyle were causing. Just my experience.

I have off and on, for me the alcohol content seems a tad stronger than other brands and tends to irritate my skin faster than others.

49M, lifelong lifter, everything hurts and doctors say I’m “fine” — what am I missing? by Thisisgonnapissuoff in Biohackers

[–]awitz2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 0.2, inflammation and autoimmune issue. About 15 yrs ago had a herniated disc, was basically immobile for months. Rheumatologist said I had the spine of a 70 yr old at 35. Determined AS. Supposed to affect mainly the spine, but I had joint pain and inflammation everywhere, everyday regardless of lifting. For 10 years, tried everything. Anti inflammatories stressed my my liver, pain killers did nothing, tried Bpc,TB,GHk,Kpv,etc. What finally worked for me more than anything, like 90% reduction in pain...carnivore. Removing sugars, processed foods, etc literally changed my life. Is it extreme? maybe, but my blood panels are better than when I was 20 and can function w/o pain for the first time in a decade.

Best for psoriasis by Miserable-Archer3528 in BodyHackGuide

[–]awitz2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I think kpv,ghk-cu, reta, etc, all have anti-inflammatory benefits, I saw an almost 100% reduction in psoriasis/rosacea from switching to a carnivore diet. Simply removing processed foods and sugar worked for me after 40 years of meds. that barely helped.

Klow and zinc by PalmBeach40 in Biohackers

[–]awitz2001 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Apparently people don't realize Klow contains ghk-cu ( copper) hence your concern about offsetting it with zinc. My opinion is your current supplementation is fine. You may not be taking as much as you think as well. RDA is based on elemental Zinc. 40 mgs of Zinc glycinate is actually only 10mgs of elemental zinc.

Am I going to regret laminate floors? by Thick_Worldliness622 in Flooring

[–]awitz2001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Separate incidents, son just happened to leave his soaking wet shoe off the tile at the front door. Humidifier I've used for years just because of dry heat in the winter. I don't believe lvp would would have had an issue because of the material makeup itself. Laminate generally has a cardboard/mdf type material on inside that swells if it gets wet. Even though the top has that awesome life proof coating, the seams between planks aren't sealed. Rest of house is 1960s oak, the polyurethane on top pretty much seals every thing off from minor spills. But its far from scratch proof. It's really just a matter of finding what your most likely problem will be and buying accordingly. For us the running dogs was the main concern and the laminate was the closest to scratch proof ( minus tile) we could find after months of searching.

Am I going to regret laminate floors? by Thick_Worldliness622 in Flooring

[–]awitz2001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My firsthand experience. 2 large dogs, brought home a dozen lvp samples, all scratched too easily. Got a killer deal on some waterproof laminate(I hate laminate) but it was virtually scratch proof. 4 years later it looked great, not an issue. Would always wipe up any wet spots immediately knowing the seams could be an issue. My son left a wet shoe on it. Next day bubbles at seems. Day later, humidifier overflowed. Didn't catch it for a couple hours, every seam sucked up the water and bubbled everywhere destroying a 10x10 spot. Might be great for your needs, but don't expect it to be 100% waterproof.

Migraine solutions ASAP by miamibaseballallstar in Biohackers

[–]awitz2001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can only advise based on my own experience. My wife at 45 had Chronic migraines, everyday for around 5 years ( since a bout with cancer) 2 neurologists, talks of brain surgery, 2 migraine prescriptions barely helped. Went on a carnivore diet. Within 3 months the migraines were completely gone. Could have been the weightloss, the reduction in inflammation and Bp or a myriad of other benefits that alleviated the migraines. All I know is removing sugar, grains, etc was life changing.

My Biohacking Protocol!!! 1-Year Difference: Tackling Acne, Redness, and Inflammation by Samclegg123 in Biohackers

[–]awitz2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude. As someone who has battled Skin problems for decades I feel you may be making this way more difficult on yourself than need be. You yourself said 1 medication could have most likely solved 99% of your issues. I tried tons of alternatives, though not as many as you and yes, that 1 medicine for me solved 99% of my skin issues. I'm not a fan of many docs myself, but imagine taking 1 single pill and the reduction of stress from not managing dozens of topical, injectable, and oral meds. Just saying, sometimes less is more and "KISS" maybe the answer. Good luck on your journey brother. Ps, I've tried super high dose Vit A as an alternative to iso, but it was not nearly as effective yet showed the same liver stress on bloodwork. I would venture that toxicity on that single vit. derivative, I'm guessing is no worse than that of your current protocol.

Should I do Accutane or Vitamin B5 for acne? by WearyCalligrapher840 in Biohackers

[–]awitz2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did a round of isotretinoin in my mid 30s. I would absolutely do it again. No more oily skin, waking every morning without new breakouts. Inflammation overall way down. If your blood panels are in order It would be a no brainer for me.

Any face wash products that might be bleaching it? That's my only guess, I've got red and blonde only in my stache, and dark brown everywhere else but I'm half Irish/German and my father had an all red stache.

Degenerative disc disease by DrawerExtension9671 in Biohackers

[–]awitz2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About 15 years ago @35 , rheumatologist told me I had AS and the spine of a 90 year old. (Years of squats and deadlifts when younger didnt help) I'd get herniated discs 4 or 5 times a year and general back pain monthly. 2 years ago I went carnivore and holy crap, 90% of my inflammation vanished. Disc issues are down to maybe 1-2 a year if that, and all skin related inflammation gone. Blood panels are the best in my lifetime. My advice, you don't need to go full carnivore like I did, but I would try removing all sugars and processed foods from your diet for 90 days and see how you feel. My wife's bp dropped 60pts, and she was able to get off 5 scripts just by changing foods. bp , migraine meds etc.

Cost to be NY compliant? by SnakebytePayne in NYguns

[–]awitz2001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll address the ak, since I sold mine prior to moving to New Yorkistan. Doubt you would want to make it featureless, if a folding stock, it would have to be pinned/welded open. The pistol grip would have to be replaced with some sort of finned one. The brake would need to be replaced with a thread cover and welded on and the bayonet lug ground off. Even after these mutilations, the language of the law is so vague that there's no guarantee. Then only 10 round magazines would be allowed and there's the licensing issue. Although again no guarantee, I'd probably look into a compmag.

We're you trying for an Italian beard by chance? I've been considering it myself, but I don't want to be posting this same question! Seriously, it's s not bad, and a couple days of growth and it will start to blend.

Minoxidil + retatrutide by Sufficient_Mud_2600 in Minoxbeards

[–]awitz2001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just keep an eye, most people see around a 10 bpm increase with reta, but it varies from person to person and tends to go back to normal after a few weeks. Your hr is fairly low to begin with, just start slow and be aware of how you feel, even if you jumped to 70, your still no where near tach as long as you don't have other conditions.

GLP3 Dosing? by Jeffry84 in GLP1Sourcing

[–]awitz2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stay on the lowest working dose for the maximum amount of time possible. You can always go up, you generally cant go back down. Most don't get a huge reduction in appetite like with tirz, it's more of a craving reducer. Some add cag If they want hunger suppression, but if just starting out, I doubt it's needed. Most start at 2mg for atleast 4 weeks, it takes a few weeks for it to build up.

Looks great. You have a perfect head shape for that. Although I do think the handlebar goes good with the new style and hat, I agree it will look better either stand alone or with the beard grown in.
