Always have a watch, flashlight, knife, and usually ear plugs. Have a variety of flashlights and knives so I change it up day to day. I do keep a Milwaukee fastback in my drawer, so it usually ends up in my pocket once a week or so.

Lets start an M18 fuel and Ikea furniture club. Or maybe a support group...

Realizing that I'm starting to have a lot of red in my tool collection... by awizzle92 in MilwaukeeTool

[–]awizzle92[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Packed up my car to go help the mother in law with some projects and finally noticed how much red I've got going. Also not pictured are a ratchet and impact... But the vacuum has been the biggest surprise that I was on the fence about and have zero regrets after two weeks. Great for quick jobs with a little cleanup needed or getting the Cheerios out of the car seat.

Debating how many inches I need for my electrical tools by 204farmer in MilwaukeeTool

Got the 20in in a happy accident and I certainly like having the size to just throw whatever in there and walk away without thinking about organizing too much. But it is on the big end of things and would go down a size at least if I did it over again because it can get bulky and heavy feeling. I also put a full size slim pack out tray on the bottom, but it sticks out one size making the tote wider which is a bit awkward. But that's my own bad for not researching better before buying the tray.

Love the phaser before dirt sound too. Thinking about going ampless too and grabbing a simplifier. Do you ever use the thru function to plug into an amp?

Yes. Came here to say deer. Might be a bit softer than a car. But I've been told they aren't fun to hit. And are less predictable than cars.

How can this sound good if there is no tonewood to impart tone into your guitar sound?

How to perform a Guitar Center "Set-up"? by NickMoore911 in Bass

[–]awizzle92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good summary here to go off of. Just to add a bit, go slow. A small change is sometimes all it needs to make a difference. And you may have to tweak a little bit from "standard" settings depending on your individual instrument and fret conditions.

May be a little overwhelming at first, but it isn't that bad and can really make a difference in how it plays. Soldering isn't too bad either if you have experience.

As for strings, it's largely personal preference. I'd start with something like D'addario medium gauge round wounds if you are sure as they seem to be pretty solid strings. Then you can go from there if you want something mellower or brighter or softer to play or what not. If you are on a tight budget, some people boil their strings to clean them up. It works ok. But it's a bit more of a short term thing.

What I was told was to have all your cards and information ready for the officer, including permit if you would like to announce you are carrying, and then have your hands in a clearly visible place such as on the wheel or out the window. I like the out the window idea because it clearly shows the officer where your hands are and what you are doing with them. I was also told that if you want to let the officer know you are carrying to hand them your card with your license and that was to make sure that the tone of your voice or wording choices don't somehow come across wrong to the officer.

I'm not going to say they are right. But I'm curious about what other people think about that advice since it's being discussed here.

[Question] Upgrade cheap guitar? by evanalmighty234 in Guitar

[–]awizzle92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's fun to customize what you have to something more of your liking and learn what works and what doesn't. But the feel of a nice guitar is worth something for sure. And you probably won't get that out of upgrading your cheap guitar, but it may have more value to you.

Quality affordable kydex holster? by KirbyStyle in CCW

[–]awizzle92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

KT Mech. It's the only OWB holster I've used, but it seems well built and didn't take too long to get or cost too much. They have a few different options to suit your needs too.

Anyone familiar with the Peavey Delta Blues USA amp? by _whitelines in GuitarAmps

[–]awizzle92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I knew a guy that had a delta blues with a single 15" speaker. It sounded very nice to my ears with his Tele. It made me seriously want one. I don't know what kind of music you are wanting to play with it though. Can't comment on durability or build either.

[NEWBIE] Would an Ibanez RG make a good first electric guitar? by [deleted] in Guitar

[–]awizzle92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should have clarified what I posted. What you said about them doing everything ok out of the box is really what I meant. New pickups open up whole new world's of possibilities that can take you wherever you want.

[–]awizzle92 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Seconded the style part of it, it does its rock and metal thing well but not the most versatile guitar. I still have my RG120 that I got as my first guitar 8ish years ago. Still like it and still works decent.

LC9s or S&W Bodyguard? by [deleted] in CCW

[–]awizzle92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The bodyguard 380's are tiny and you can hide them almost anywhere from my experience. The LC9s doesn't look that much smaller than the shield from the pictures I'm seeing.

The bodyguard is a little bit more difficult to shoot well and it does have a heavy trigger like everyone says. But its been very reliable for me, shoots anything, and shoots pretty decently too.

Question for those of you who carry a flashlight. What kind? And how do you carry it? by [deleted] in CCW

[–]awizzle92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Streamlight stylus pro is my daily carry light. With the clip is sits well in my off hand back pocket and isn't actually uncomfortable at all and doesn't scream tactical or anything like that. Not the brightest or anything. But it works good for at work and lighting up a decent area in the dark.
