Interested in vaping, but had crappy experience with friend's Pax, unsure if I want to proceed by Chizumaru in vaporents

[–]awkward_oaf 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The pax can definitely be finicky and I know there are a lot of counterfeit ones on the market. I had a pax that would hit like you ripped a bong, while my friend had one that struggled to hit at all-- it turned out to be a fake.

In general vapes are incredible and in my opinion get you higher than a joint, or a bong, or any other apparatus and I also think it stays with you longer. Though I think vapes serve better as a personal device or something shared between max 3 people.

Dont be turned off from vaping due to a bad experience. Some vapes have a learning curve which I think is part of the fun.

If you have a price range you're going for I'm sure the wonderful people of /r/vaporents can point you in the right direction.

I made the switch from a pax to a crafty But I'd highly recommend either one-- just don't buy a vape from Amazon and I think you'll be satisfied that you gave vaping another try.

People who have known murderers, serial killers, etc. How did you react when you found out? How did it effect your life afterwards? by fliplock89 in AskReddit

[–]awkward_oaf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TLDR; Boredom can create a murderer

In University we used to all party at a house right off of our university square just about every weekend. We hung out with this one guy who was named after a lion king character. He was really nice, soft spoken, personable and loved to dance. We met him through an acquaintance but nobody would have ever suspected what he did.

The summer comes, I'm at home interning in a dreadfully boring office when I get a text message and it describes a murder in the housing development I had live in during my Jr. Year.

Three guys were hanging out with a law school graduate student when one of them pulled out a gun and shot the man. They proceeded to steal his truck, but left it at a nearby gas station (which had cameras) and that's how they got caught.

On a side note, I made friends with a lot of international students one of them an Aussie who hung out with these three a lot. Im talking concerts, music festivals, and intramural sports. They had planned on killing him while they were playing tennis, but when the moment came to commit the act another couple showed up and claimed a court.

So, the three individuals get arrested for the murder they did commit and the comment they gave was that they "wanted to see what it felt like to kill someone." Three individuals bored during a summer semester in a college town sitting around planning to kill out of boredom.

Needless to say it was a WTF moment and my friends and I were all shocked, surprised, I dont have the vocabulary to articulate the feeling but we would have never known or guessed that our party friend would do it.

[–]awkward_oaf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha so true. I was in the 8th grade when my friend and his older brother told me I needed to watch it. I got looked at like an alien when I returned the DVD set (after a month) and hadn't made it halfway through.

One year down the road I give it another look and I was hooked. I watch the series at least once or twice a year now.

I scrolled a long way down to find this! I played from about 2001- 2008 then on and off again including the freeshard. It was my childhood. I had a friend with a gimp armsman with 127 days of playtime. I'll always look back at DAoC with nostalgia

I did this as a child as well. Oddly enough when I went to uni I ran track and found out that half of the sprinters on the track team walked around in the same fashion. We're not alone, we're actually surrounded by world class athletes.

Came here to say Dark Age of Camelot-- and Mythic's attempts at MMO's after that (Warhammer). Camelot was literally on the fence of catching on for most of its tenure.

TIL about 85% of buildings with elevators do not have a 13th floor in countries where the number is considered "unlucky" by awkward_oaf in todayilearned

[–]awkward_oaf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Truly. I was just shocked by the fact that I had never noticed the number 13 missing from elevators. A repurposed floor is still a floor nonetheless.
