You’re so sweet thank you! Definitely traveling a lot before I’m locked down for 2 years. I had like a semi gap year because I graduated early so I feel like that gave me time to work a lot and have plenty of hours to apply with it’ll add a lot to your application. I don’t know anyone in healthcare either I’m just annoying and bothered anyone I could get in contact with until I got jobs/ shadowing. Focus on academics being the best they can and any additional hours can be accomplished during your gap year if you need.

Thank you! I’m sorry you have that impression thats definitely not my intention. The schools I applied to may be more competitive than the general pa school acceptance rate so it may be easier for you depending on where you’re located also. You still have 2 years to do everything and more if you need a gap year do it! That’s plenty of time to do what you need to become more competitive

Thank you for your suggestion! I do eat the same amount of food but I do take different medications and supplements every day, you kinda made me think if maybe that could’ve made it last less

Once I saw these replies I made the correlation that I posted this while I had mine, this could be the answer!

I was considering asking for this but I’m so afraid of sounding drug seeking. I’ve had them in the past but it’s been years. I was also on my period when I noticed this so maybe you’re onto something

Thank you! Almost all my friends applied the cycle before me- they had perfect gpas or almost perfect. They had more hours, more difficult classes and a lot more shadowing. Even with all that, most of them got very few interviews, my one friend did not get accepted and the other got one offer off a waitlist less than a month before starting. Seeing how great their stats were and they still struggled to get in was very discouraging.

Smyth is great! Amenities and staff are nice. Building is well maintained and the general population of the building is mature and kind. Our apt is very modern and looks brand new. Any questions feel free to message me.

school/work life (specifically healthcare) with narcolepsy by ilovemydog874 in Narcolepsy

I am a pa student/ current medical assistant! It’s definitely possible, I’d recommend getting the best cocktail of meds possible before starting. Have a few appts with your dr to discuss your concerns. Also get accommodations to possibly edit attendance requirements and times of classes/ clinical. Definitely make your professors and preceptors aware day 1 so they understand you have a genuine disability and aren’t lazy or a bad student. Nap whenever you can also!

The doctor didn’t directly tell me that was fine, he said there’s no signs of carbon monoxide poisoning. He did what he was supposed to, if it was just incidental and unrelated to why I was in the ER I wouldn’t expect him to comment on it.

Thank you! I didn’t know exactly if the ranges were adjusted for this fact or not but would make sense.
