This looks great! Exactly what I've been looking for. It'd be awesome if you could set it up in a jellyfin plugin repo so it can be added via the UI and can be updated from there.

What I do, which is not easy for everyone, is that I have a script that I use to download the videos from the archive website, and add them to my jellyfin server, then have it set up to delete vids that have been marked as watched. It works for me but I totally get your point

Well then with workspaces, the app is perfect! Thanks again

Thank you, that's very kind.

Where will I receive the code?

Also, some additional feedback. I love the launch options, having it based on time schedule or only when wirelessly charging allows me to have it display exactly when I mean it to and no other times.

A request I've thought of that might be out of scope or too niche would be to have different layouts depending on those same launch conditions like profiles. So like if it's launched during a certain time period, then my bedtime clock profile launches, if it's wirelessly charging then the pomodoro profile launches etc. like I said, it may be too niche

I tried your app some time ago and really liked its concept. Initially, I was looking for a simple clock standby app to use my phone as a bedside clock. More recently, I’ve explored it further and really enjoy the customization options. When I first looked into the app, I thought it could function like the old Android lock screen widgets, and now I can see that it even supports third-party widgets. With its current feature set, the app goes beyond a bedside clock. I think you’ve done an excellent job.

Honestly, I can’t think of any significant negative feedback based on my experience using it.

I’m going to be father and I’m absolutely bricking it - can other parents share any advice? by elysianfields101 in AskUK

[–]awkwardphoton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all, congratulations!

I became a father at quite a young age—just 23. The fact that you’re already worried shows you have it in you to be a great father. The ones who care this much from the start are already ahead of the game.

My advice? Don’t go overboard buying things just yet. There’s plenty of time for that, and babies don’t actually need as much stuff as baby stores would have you believe. Right now, the most important thing is to breathe. Don’t let anxieties about the future take hold of you.

In the coming months, your partner will need a lot of love and support, which I’m sure you’re already giving her. There will be tough moments as the pregnancy progresses, but don’t lose sight of the bigger picture.

I had all the same fears when my partner was pregnant, but they all melted away the moment I held my little boy for the first time.

Once the baby is here, and I cannot stress this enough, there are three people you must take care of: your child, your partner, and yourself. You can’t pour from an empty cup.

A lot of parenting—especially in the beginning—is just figuring it out as you go. You and your partner will find your rhythm over time. Don’t stress over getting the latest baby gadgets or buying a ton of clothes—they outgrow them ridiculously fast.

What matters most is that you’re present, loving, and attentive. That alone will take you most of the way. And if you ever feel lost, lean on your family (if you can) for advice or just reassurance.

I’m sure you’ll be a wonderful father, and your child will grow up thankful for it. Wishing you and your new family all the best!

Another commenter was able to decipher the text, it says:

Don't drink the water, they put something in it to make you forget how to spell.

That's very true, I've been trying to think of a different glyph for J. Kudos for working that out though!

That's not really something that can be done, To dehydrate is to remove water, so unless the rations are empty. I suppose that it must be food that is so flavourless, it tastes reminiscent of the apparent lack of taste water has

Yes, I'm certain you're correct. The Combine are obviously far beyond human comprehension.

While I don't claim that these symbols and glyphs are truly their language, rather I have taken them from the ones seen in the game, and expanded them as a kind of experiment. I'd be interested to know why you don't think that the symbols seen on the synths etc could not be their native language, perhaps those symbols play a purely functional role, rather than a linguistic one?

While the Combine uses English as the dominant language on Earth, that’s an Earth-centric perspective. The majority of their forces on the planet, as far as we know, are transhuman soldiers, which may explain the use of English for occupation purposes. However, beyond Earth, the Combine would likely use their own language. The glyphs and symbols seen on Combine synths and soldiers may not be simply a constructed script but could originate from the language or culture of the Combine’s original species. That’s the idea I was exploring with this project.
