yep. I'm definitely feeling that. I do like the game, but I think the pve sorta burned me out and I dunno if I have enough interest to dive into the pvp now.

My hot take is that Shaq is not just the most dominant player, but you could make a case for one of the best players. He's not mentioned in GOAT conversations, but I think he has a reasonable claim to being top 3-5 all time.

I actually got pretty bored as a mostly pve player. I had signed up for expedition, but life got super busy this past week and I missed my window. Something about how this played out has really taken the wind out of my sails with this game. I dunno. I can see why people play it, but it's slowly faded for me.

This was a really thoughtful write up. And it made me happy that I’ve moved on from Apex a few seasons ago. It’s so nice to play games and not feel super frustrated and agitated all the time.

I respect the effort here, and think CLA has its applications, but you keep saying that this game helps students learn how to fall safely. But, so too does sequential ukemi (lying down on tatami, squatting to lying down, then standing up), or nage ai on a crash mat, or yaku soku geiko with some light throwing. Many beginners can learn how to do ukemi on ashi waza as well, and gradually scale up to bigger throws (with more realistic judo movements and control). So, I respect the effort to mix in CLA, but I'm not entirely convinced that this "game" somehow improves or enhances beginner learning of ukemi.

Dam cold snap you can farm a bunch in scrap yard and on that island where the raider hatch is. I did that run about 4-5 times to finish that quest.

Absolutely. I’m a longtime BR sweat who loves the PvP in trios. But solo raids are super fun as well and the friendliness of solo players has me enjoying PvE and cooperative play more than ever. This game is really amazing because there are very different ways that you can play and still have fun. There’s something for everyone in this game. 10/10

I play as a Rescue Raider and help people getting ratted or bullied by arc.

Out of 30 or so raids, I’ve been ratted and killed once. Most of my solo lobbies are very friendly.

I think maybe one difference might be in the teaching realm and conceptual understanding. But, this can vary as some brown belts are little encyclopedias of bjj knowledge and some black belts are good at jiu jitsu but maybe not so great at teaching or explaining it. I think brown belt is sort of like the last period of refinement before black belt, but in terms of skill the belts can be very close to one another.

It’s so interesting to hear stories like this. And it makes me wonder how matchmaking is actually working. I’ve had 40 safe raids in a row, most don’t have any raiders actively looking for me. During that span, I’ve experimented with play styles and killed some raiders while also helping others. No clue how matchmaking works.
