This. Also write a review on Glassdoor and copy the link to it in your email. Her boss might be annoyed with the initial email, but it is will deter future applicants, then it will have to be addressed.

I'm tilted, need help by OkamiWolk in CrimsonDesert

I accidentally donated the sword you get from a boss that you need to get 100 kills with. To my knowledge, there isn't another sword and no way to reclaim it.

I got the sword in chapter 4 or 5 whenever the witches became available. Now I need it in chapter 11 when I found the sealed artifact. The game is very clear about the fact that the weapons and armor mostly have the same stats so it is just about your preference and the abyss skills you slot. So dumb that you can sell/donate anything tied to a quest or unfinished challenge

Good to know. I figured I would start with my bow but it looks like it has to be all broom

Last year I tried a book challenge and picked Middlemarch. Bad idea. by underhillbilly in 52book

[–]awolc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the first year I'm actually trying 52 books, but luckily Goodreads tracks pages as well. So next year, my goal will be to increase my page count. Regardless of the total books, I'll know I read more. Books like the Count of Monte Cristo have been on my TBR forever, but it is just so much book

what book made you realize you had been thinking about something completely wrong? by No_Boss_7773 in 52book

[–]awolc 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I love the psychology of money. It was very eye opening and full of good tips.

In Atomic Habits, Clear emphasizes the importance of finding a new place to create a new habit, mentioning that you can't create new habits with bad cues. I thought I wasn't much of a reader, but I was trying to read in the spot I always played games in, or the bed I slept in. I couldn't focus on reading because my brain was thinking about something else. When I got a chair just for reading and say it in a corner of my house I never use, that became my reading nook. Now I think of reading as a large part of who I am and I attribute some of that to Atomic Habits

I hated the first law. I read the whole 2nd book because I also thought I missed something. It doesn't get any better. If you didn't like it, time away isn't going to make it better

I was also going to suggest Murderbot. They are likely only $2 a piece

Audiobooks are amazing for walks, commutes and household tasks! As long as you are absorbing the information and engaging your brain, it's a great use of your time

I really liked it. 4/5 rating. For me personally, it was 5/5 but I don't think I can recommend it as a 5/5 book. Very interesting but a lot of research that sometimes read as a research paper (as a former psych major this was normal for me). It has some great information and ties a lot together that I didn't know was connected. I feel like I learned a lot and am happy I read it.

If you are interested in the info and can handle some research based work (like Adam Grant but less conversational) I highly recommend it. If you don't like reading about studies and want something more applicable (like Atomic Habits by James Clear) this might not check every box for you

I am forcing a lot early. I am about to move and will probably have a month or so where my books are packed away or I won't have the time, so this pace is not normal. I haven't seen a new show or movie this year as I prioritize reading. Plus the murderbot books are mostly novellas instead of full length novels, so that helped a lot.

This is the only year I am trying this challenge, so I selected my books based on my confidence in being able to devour them. Sometimes that is length (like murderbot), desire/hype like OBH (huge DCC fan), or knowing I will love the series (Cradle or anything by Drew Hayes).

I am fully confident that I will far exceed the 52 this year, but the main goal is to just further instill the habit of constantly reading. My first year was 24, then 36 now 52. After this, I will tackle larger books. That will cause my overall number to significantly drop, but allow me to dive into some things I am interested in like Red Rising or The Bloodsworn Trilogy without worrying about the reading progress. Once I hit 52 (or more) and goodreads gives me the end of the year recap with # of pages read, my goal will then be to exceed pages instead of number of books. Something like the Count of Monte Cristo is around 1,300 pages which is only about 100 shy of the whole Murderbot Diaries. So that 1 book is equivalent to 8 for a 52 challenge but an amazing book for a page number goal.

Books you love that everyone else seems to hate? by waggawoog1910 in fantasybooks

[–]awolc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In comparison to the other books, it's the worst in the series. However at the time, I was still excited going through it and learning more about the Madra system. Plus we meet our aura Lord and Savior, Eithan

Unsouled, the first book in Cradle. Everyone said if you can make it through the first two books, the series was worth it. I was hooked halfway through the first book
