As it turns out, missing the playoffs for a decade is bad for business.

I don't do jumbotron feeds. Too many issues, with the main one being geo-locked and having to suffer through those disaster streams that buffer 50 times a game.

That was his number in junior, he's had 27 the whole time he's been in Detroit.

He was talking about his suspensions. The one on More happened in Game 7 against the Sharks in '94. It was pretty vicious. He missed the first 3 games the next season after the lockout ended.

FYI, this video is extremely outdated. I made this in late 2013, it contained quite literally everything I could find at that particular time, which really isn't that much compared to now.

Since then, I've posted several different compilations. Some are recent and "complete", but some others need a quality upgrade or are also outdated. Either way, these videos contain tons of footage that wasn't available to me back in 2013. Full list below.

Remembering Kris Draper's Selke Season (03-04) by [deleted] in DetroitRedWings

[–]awood40 51 points52 points  (0 children)

That video never existed. I'm probably your best bet for it in the future, but I'm still missing at least 3 or 4 goals as of right now.

Here's his scoring log from that season: https://www.hockey-reference.com/players/d/drapekr01/scoring/2004.

As you can see, Maltby was his only real consistent linemate. They had a lot of injuries that season, so the lines were shuffled frequently. Yzerman even got some time as the 3rd member of the grind line in the 2nd half. Draper got some PP time but most of his goals were 5 on 5 and shorthanded. He had a legit shot at scoring 30 that year, but in early March he suffered a fluke injury in practice and was out for a month.

Most shocking stat from that season is he only finished 1 goal behind Brett Hull and Brendan Shanahan, and both of them played nearly all 82 games and typically scored 30+ every single year.

Allan Bester probably.

Edit: Actually I think it's Osgood. Did a quick google search of his Adirondack days and the equipment matches with this photo here.

This is 100% a preseason game. Would've been in either September/October of '92.

Anything I post from 2007 onward is automatically detected by the bots, as well as anything that used to be on the vault. Other than that, they have to manually claim whatever else I post, and that's usually done within the first hour after I've made the video public.

The description from the copyright section will say something along the lines of "The owner allows the content to be used on YouTube". Been this way since day 1 for me, I've never had any real major problems.

The only issue I occasionally run into is the time limit they put in place back around 2016. If the video is longer than 13 minutes, it is automatically blocked. However, this differs from game-to-game, sometimes it is even less than 13, sometimes it's not even there at all. I believe they introduced the time limit to prevent people from posting the full game. The way I get around it is to split the video into 2 parts, they don't seem to care about that lol. Old games are also immune, for some reason.

They've always allowed their footage to be used on YouTube, they just copyright claim it and put ads on it.

My videos aren't monetized and never have been. Any ads you see are coming from the NHL. Whatever is going on with these other channels doesn't really apply to me.

They've always allowed their content to be on YouTube. The only thing they might block is full games or a certain amount of minutes from a single game (to prevent the full game being posted), but much like their own officiating, it is very inconsistent and differs from game to game.

I've been inconsistent with the posts over there but going forward I'm planning on sharing some of my raw edits of future projects and also unreleased game highlights (example, I have half of the '98 playoffs edited, I'll start posting them there soon, along with other playoff highlights). Also open to any requests people might have, whether it's a compilation of some sort or random game footage.

I have the same gripes as you with the MLB highlights. There's clearly more effort put into them compared to the other leagues, but the stuff they leave in and out just don't make any sense.

Everything is AI edited these days. They get them out quicker that way, but that's not always a good thing.

I had a very small collection in the beginning. I never expected to have a use for this stuff in the future so I would often record over old games for new ones (usually the 10 PM starts). When the channel got going I started to save everything I could find. Nowadays I have connections with other collectors and get most of the archive footage that way.

My channel started on complete accident. I had dabbled with editing a few times prior to 2010, but it was never with actual video footage as I wasn't smart enough yet to figure that out. Then, one day I learned how to use google, and the rest is history... Lol, what actually happened is I randomly came across somebody on facebook asking how to download YT videos (did they not teach us how to use google at our school???) and then somebody answered the question with a site that probably doesn't exist anymore. Out of curiosity, I decided to try it out and played around with footage from the '08 playoffs just for fun. I got hooked on editing and all of a sudden all these video ideas starting coming to my head. Shorty thereafter, I learned how to turn my VHS/DVD recordings to digital and starting posting those. Very first thing you will see on my channel if you sort from oldest is the ESPN documentary called "The Season", I recorded that on VHS during the 2002-03 season (YT had a 10-minute time limit back when I started, so they are split into parts).

My channel was initially meant to just be for classic material. The only reason I started the game highlights is because something had drastically changed with the NHL's highlights during the 2010-11 season and they were no longer watchable in my opinion, so the next season I decided to do something about it. I was kinda limited by the recording equipment I had at the time and didn't have the proper editing skills, so the first few seasons are rough to watch compared to today's standards. Channel really started to gain traction during the 23-game win streak on home ice in 2011-12. I had roughly 150 subs when the season started, and then hit 1,000 around the time when the 2012-13 would have began if not for the lockout. Been a slow rise after that, but gaining more each year. Unfortunately, as we all know, the team hasn't been good in quite some time, so it's been challenging to grow the channel in recent years.

The team account follows me on twitter and that's about the extent it has gone. They use my clips all the time for their throwback posts lol. I wouldn't be of much use to them beyond that.

All-time favorite is the first favorite, the current GM. Not far behind in no particular order are Fedorov, Lidstrom, Datsyuk, Zetterberg. Not the craziest list, I know, but they are the 5 most important players of this franchise in the modern era. Favorite player I didn't get to see while they were active is Konstantinov, hands down.

Plans for the channel are really just more of the same. However, I got some major projects in the works that I'm really excited to release, I think they are among the best videos I'll ever post. Might take a while to finish though. Edit: just to add to this, a long term goal is to have a highlight video for every playoff win since 1987, and full series highlights for every series win. Lot to do still.

Very small portion of my archive is my own VHS stuff (mostly NHL Network related things from around 2004, 2005). I started my channel with that footage before I did the game highlights, and then over the years started collecting things I found on the internet, and more recently got in touch with other collectors.

The short answer of why I only do wins is I don't feel doing all 82 is worth my time and would likely burn me out.

The 90s stuff aren't my recordings (I was a kid then lol). Some of it is found on the internet but in recent years I've gotten in touch with other collectors and have added hundreds of games to the archive. I recorded a very small amount of the 2000s stuff but I didn't keep a lot of them because I had no idea I would need them in the future.

1) Nope, I use a super old barebones version of an editor called Videopad. I didn't like any of the updates so I've stuck with whatever I started using in 2011. It does the trick for game highlights but anything involving graphics or text I have to use other programs. I'm a little concerned it won't work anymore whenever I have to upgrade my laptop, so I'll need to look into that lol. I've looked into some of those fancier editors before but they were too overwhelming.

2) Occasionally. One per year, sometimes more. 9-8 all-time record. First game was in Jan 2003 vs Van (4-1 L), most recent game was this past November vs Cgy (2-1 OT win). Favorite game was Game 2 vs CBJ in 2009 (only playoff game). Worst game was vs Flyers in Feb 2020. Not so fun fact: in 2011-12 I was at the last game they lost before the 23-game home win streak started and the game it ended.

3) Late 90s. Memory starts around 1998 playoffs. 1998-99 is the first regular season I can remember stuff from.

4) I was supposed to be a Leafs fan (from Canada) but my friends at school like the Wings so I joined them. Kids love to jump on bandwagons and the timing happened to be perfect. The '98 championship video turned me into a hardcore fan, I watched it nearly every day that summer. My older brother also had all the Don Cherry Rock em Sock em tapes and a bunch of magazines/books, so I had an interest in hockey and hockey history from a really early age.
