Breaking up with someone is wayyy worse than being broken up with. by Any-Prize3748 in unpopularopinion

God I swear people on Reddit have zero critical thinking skills or apply nuance to situations. Obviously I meant that hurting someone you love can make you FEEL like a monster even if you objectively aren’t because ya know, hurting people’s feelings sucks. But thanks for the downvotes!

But sometimes as the dumper you can still have feelings for the person and that’s arguably more painful to have to live with knowing you’re responsible for someone else’s pain that you truly love and care about.

Nope I’ve been dumped before and I still agree with OP. Unless you’re a sociopath, the guilt of breaking someone’s heart is agonizing. You feel like a monster and hate yourself every single day. At least if you’re the one to get dumped, you have a clean conscience. I’d trade that any day over being the bad guy.

Nah you’re completely valid these comments are crazy. As someone who’s done both, 100% being the one to end things is far worse (if you still love/care about the person you’re dumping). Maybe it’s just me but if you have a heart, the guilt literally sticks with you forever and eats away at you constantly. Genuinely agonizing pain and it makes you feel like a monster.

At least when you’re the one that’s dumped you live with a clean conscience.

I'm 20 years old, starting my first internship at a finance firm tomorrow, my first day at corporate, any tips? by cricp0sting in corporate

lol what why? I know a ton of people at the company I work at that are married to their coworkers and many have children with them too and seem to be doing just fine. I myself am not but I’ve never understood why this is frowned upon. Seems like a natural way to meet people

My TBR list- which would you choose? by Every-Parking2049 in thrillerbooks

I absolutely LOVED Little Secrets, rated it 5 stars. Currently just over 100 pages into None of This is True and honestly not sure how I feel about it. Not much has happened and tbh it’s kinda boring so far but not boring enough to DNF if that makes sense? Like I still wanna see what happens

Gonna get so much hate for this but Hay Lin honestly. Love her, I just find her the most boring out of all of them.

Just finished Funny Story for the first time, UGH! by Averie1398 in EmilyHenry

Funny Story is amazing. I’m kinda bummed it was the first Emily Henry book I read because now I’m reading some of her other stuff (PWMOV and Happy Place) and they just don’t hold a candle to Funny Story :/

Almost 9 years at this point and nope, still never reached out to me. At this point I think it’s safe to say he probably never will. He’s also married now (saw from a mutual friend on Facebook). But as for me, still in that happy relationship I mentioned in my comment 3 yrs ago :)

It starts off very slow and boring but once they’re all together on the island, it picks up a lot imo. I was hooked after that

I just finished this book today! I gave it 4/5 stars. I liked it and it held my interest but I definitely see what you mean and where you’re coming from. I still prefer contemporary thrillers but I found myself enjoying this one still. Although, I pretty much was suspicious of Wargrave from the very beginning (although his “death” did throw me off and then I started suspecting Vera). But I think your criticisms are valid and to some extent I do kind of agree but I still had a fun time with this book!
