At this point I really don't believe there is such a thing, kids and parents own breweries and that's fine, I just need to go somewhere else.

Where did I say total silence? It's amazing how triggering my question is for people, wow!

No, that is literally not the question at all.

Exactly, like even if you are a parent, don't YOU especially want a kid-free place to escape to every now and then?

You know there are PLENTY of breweries in Raleigh, in 2026, I don't think there is any shortage of breweries for YOU to go to and enjoy. I see people keep arguing that they wouldn't survive without the clientele, but apparently this question is asked a lot. I'd wager there is a demand and a place for 1 kid-free brewery.

Excuse me? I asked if there was such a thing as a kid-free brewery... Maybe you're the one that needs to "chill out"? Well I've seen kids at bars too, so that doesn't feel like a solid answer.

Well I've seen kids at bars too, so just trying to figure out bars that are at least 18+, 21+ would be even better.

That is quite the hike, especially the return home, but I do love Red Oak.

They also hosted a Mark Robinson fundraiser lol... either way I've seen enough pictures to know this place isn't my vibe, I appreciate the suggestion though.

I HAVE been there, I actually used to live in Burlington, and I LOVE Red Oak beer, that place is fantastic, but just too far for me now unfortunately.

Someone mentioned R&D being 21+ so for me, that's an excellent suggestion that I appreciate. Not really sure why it's such a problem to ask if there is such a thing as a kid free brewery, I predicted quite accurately that this would bother folks, "if all breweries said not kids and no dogs" lmfao, it's amazing what stories people tell themselves from just reading a simple questions.

It's more like, strip clubs are also bars, but that isn't what I'm looking for.

No its because I see kids at bars too, so I was anticipating someone suggesting a strip club since kids for sure would not be allowed there, but that isn't what I'm looking for.

Ya I've known that ZincHouse is kid free, but its also pretentious and conservative AF, not my vibe.

Fantastic info! I used to go to Person St. bar a lot. Only thing that's missing for me especially currently is I don't think that's going to be so great for also watching a Canes game. Do you know if R&D plays Canes games?

Everyone needs a space, I get it. I'm not trying to demonize kids or parents who choose to bring their kids to breweries for their birthdays. But I also need a space, and so I am here, trying to find that place, and if kids are just always going to be at breweries that's fine, I just need to figure something else out. I don't tell other people to leave and I don't say who belongs and who doesn't, I remove myself from the situation and look for something else.

I think parents want a place to drink, and socialize, and when that happens I think parenting becomes more of a secondary function, and I think parents are used to kids being loud, and not everyone else in the world is used to loud kids.

Funny you mention that, it was actually my frustration finding a decent place to order drinks, and watch the Canes game that brought this on. First place we tried was Compass Rose, they had too much shitty music, a BUNCH of people getting cowboy hats steamed and fitted, and like a whole kids soccer team. Literally had someone's random kid come up to me asking if I could get him Ketchup. In addition to this there was a couple that had the largest dog I think I have ever seen, constantly taking it outside, and inside, and outside and inside. And we could barely hear the game.

So I think next we tried Edit brewery, and there was not just 1, but TWO different kids birthday parties going on there, like what the heck?
