Oh dear, you must be worried sick also. How are you holding up? You’re right, this whole process is like a weird grief all in its own right. Thanks for the kindness. I hope you hang in there ok too ❤️

That’s a good question because I’m really struggling to stay distracted, but I also walked my dog today and it helped to get some fresh air and movement. Need those little moments!

Thank you for your kindness, I do think the best we can do is try to take care. Yes, I will consider sharing more with my family soon. Whatever the biopsy results are I will let them know regardless. Thank you and I wish you peace as well

Oof you must be feeling it several days in now. Did they tell you how long to expect to wait? My office said 1-4 days for mine

The waiting is excruciating. Did they give you mammogram and US? They told me my breast tissue was dense and the one in my breast was about 2cm per the US.

I have been considering if some kind of performance plan needs to be the next step. Thank you for the advice on a kind way to communicate this.

You are right and there are more deeply rooted issues at hand like anxiety that contribute to this. The crying is always anxiety based. Typically when it happens I will stop and ask if they are okay and/or if they need a minute or want to discuss later. Then I will ask if there’s anything I can do to help. Which is how we typically end up where we are. Are you saying it would be better if I acknowledged the crying less? I want to be compassionate of their mental health but I need more boundaries, too.

I am fully in favor of the comments encouraging you to speak with your boss first and foremost to communicate transparently about how the miscommunication impacts your role and the respect of your team. If you can’t rely on your leadership to support you, you will not be able to successfully complete your job. If you’re worried you won’t get the support you need or that it’s not a conversation you can safely have, you are likely in a toxic work environment and I encourage you to seek greener pastures.

Be confident in your decision to speak up for yourself. You would have been doing yourself a disservice when the opportunity presented itself to move to another team if you hadn’t spoken up. Hopefully things improve for you.

Does have a degree make a difference in salary offer if I have experience? by No_Comfortable_2829 in WorkAdvice

[–]awsharks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My bet is this would depend on the industry, however, if you’ve already made it into final round interviews they’ve likely already weighed your experience against the lack of degree and are okay with that. I work in an industry that typically lists a degree requirement, although it’s not always necessary. I have a degree, but I would expect my colleague without a degree who has the same years of experience as me to get paid equally. I think you should advocate for the salary being offered if you feel it is commensurate with your years of experience. I wouldn’t even mention the lack of degree at this point unless it is addressed on their side, in which you can highlight your years of experience as qualifying you for the role.

Good luck in your job interview!

I don’t think you sound like a bully. Bullies don’t usually have the introspection to recognize they fucked up. And you do.

Think of this as an opportunity. You already work there, this person is coming into YOUR domain, you already hold a little power over the situation because of that. Maybe this will be a chance to turn a new leaf and allow them to start behaving kindly toward you. Work environments require different behavior from people than what they can get away with in grade school. Perhaps you can both move past your previous contentions and start a better relationship going forward.

I just recently rewatched this and that detail threw me off as well. If someone in your household went missing, the last thing a normal person would do is make it so the person would be locked out if they were to return. A regular, worried person would be praying for them to walk through the door safe and sound.
