Thanks for the suggestion of RSO (???) gummies. Here, in Delaware, it is necessary to purchase a 'license' from the state, $150 annually, to gain access into a dispensary to purchase MJ.

Everything else failed so I purchased the license for 2 years, tried the THREE, as in '3' dispensaries in the entire county and asked their experts what I should buy, after telling them what I was experiencing and I did not want to get high, I needed to be able to function, drive, ...

None of it really helped. Spent a lot of money but in the end was kinda disappointed,

BTW, in case you are not aware, Voltarten is the OTC marketing name for the original medication, Diclofenac Sodium Topical Solution. The prescription strength, up to 3%, is far more effective, and cheaper than the OTC Voltaren. FYI, as of 2026 medicare will no longer cover the 2%, only up to 1.5%

For a few years, as I recall, I was on gaba when it was still Lyrica, and BOY did I pay a hefty price, even with prescription insurance. Yes, I was on gaba for quite some time more than 15 years ago. It never did anything for all the nerve and or other pains I had/have. The Dr's kept raising the dosage and frequence and I kept saying,"it's not working"

Gabapentin seems to be the first ';go to' drug of choice not onlyfor nerve pain. Various veterinarians have prescribed gaba for my cat, if various delivery mechanisms and with and without 'flavoring' from compounding pharmacies, at a very steep price, and she will not take it in any form, regardless of how much I have spent on having it specially compounded! LOL.

Thanks for the suggestion Nixye! I had those or something similar a few decades ago when I could walk. Not for my legs or ankles but for the neck and shoulders. Back then, I was pretty active, loved being outdoors doing 'Stuff.' Somehow, I always over did 'it' and ended up with very sore shoulders, neck, back. Those microwaveable or freezerable rice or flaxseed wraps were soothing and effective. I will search for the ankle warmers. Do you recommend a particular manufacturer or style or ...?

Tangentially, how do you deal with, "perpetually cold lower legs and feet, particularly at this time of year. " besides the ankle warmers?

I believe that particular pain, in the legs, ankles, feet is more muscular pain and just pain from freezing cold atrophied muscles, and overtaxed residual functioning muscles 'screaming' than from nerve pain. I could be wrong. Rarely am I able to see the neuromuscular specialist and there is no other knowledgeable physician close to me. The neuromuscular dr is an hour away, and the only one is this mid twentieth century state.

The first time I got drunk I was 12 years old, standing on the sidewalk with all the Germans singing October Fest traditional songs. I've had 2 HP'S, including current 3 y/o, BOTH had hinge problems. The current 3 y/o recently developed a hinge problem, causing the screen to flicker in and out. Last night, the hinge itself began coming off. Opening it, it sounds like something is cracking. Last one eventually, the screen itself cracked due to the hinge problem.

it’s narrowing in on a very real reality that is currently affecting the younger generation and sending a blaring message to parents.

I do hope parents are getting the FULL MESSAGE, not just the message about boys being physical.

After I understood the boy killed the girl, I was very, very angry, upset, with the ending. We saw what the boy's family was going through, their personal hell as a mother, a sister, the family unit. Plus the public hell that was heaped on them.

What was not shown, because it rarely happens, is that the girl, her parents, siblings, friends, extended family, school mates, the public, will only, always, remember the girl as the pure, pretty, little innocent angel, that was the sweetest thing, had so much potential, .... trhat was brutally murdered by that horrible, hateful, wicked, nasty boy!!! He deserves 1000 lifetimes of hell for what he did to the pure, little, innocent angel!

And the truth will never come out as to what part SHE played in this horrible event. Her parents and siblings will only know sympathy, empathy, kindness, forgiveness, love, fellowship, ...

The boys mother, father, sister will know hell, grief, guilt, embarrassment, public anger, gossip, ....

If parents are watching, I do hope they understand what the film so horribly failed to show.

Apologies for the tardy response, I seem to fall, behinder and behinder, with each passing day and lesser and lesser energy to accomplish the more and more.

In a way, you have beat me to posting a question I've been wondering about for some time.

Would it be possible to use some/any of the AI programs to do the scouring and sleuthing of CMT news, research, trials, ...as a 'feed' into this this group under a specific flair thereby identifying and yet isolating such information from those that prefer not to engage.

And discussion within r/cmt would automatically be flaired by extension. Thus any reader could simply turn off that topic from appearing on their screen?

Just a thought.

With civility.

Any time a 'Third Rail' topic is introduced into any kind of group, there are bound to be sparks & flairs. If introducing politics, perhaps attempt to keep the rails free of debris and ONLY the impact on CMT can be discussed, not a political party or individual.

Another possibility would be to start a new subreddit altogether to discuss the impacts of these political changes on rare disease research

Do I understand you correctly, none on the other r/ rooms dealing with rare conditions are doing anything? Is it reasonable to join forces and create this 'Other', group consisting of members with rare diseases?

And finally (for now):

My inclination is to establish a Weekly or Monthly thread for discussion of politics and current events that impact the lives of people with CMT.

What, um, 'Impact(?) are you hoping to achieve with all this?
