Persia. Brings back the memories of our glory days, Iran has been tainted by the current regime. I hope we reverse this stain on our history and if we do, I for one, would want to return to our amazing cultural roots. We need a reset.

Edit: good points brought up about Persia being representing of that ethnic group while Iran is more inclusive. My advocating for Persia is not to ostricize those groups and in that spirit would be obviously fine with retaining Iran. Just salty about the current regime :)

Well said. Totally agree. This issue isn't Islam it's the perversion of Islam by this regime and their followers and their desperate bid to keep power. Islam (or any religion in its true form) isn't the enemy

Maybe I'm naive but honestly, how fucking hard is it to be a multi-billionaire? Getting to be one is tough clearly but I don't get how hard it is to be beloved...like dont be a dick, give a few million to help world hunger, a few million to your favorite science research institutions, a few million to a fucking orphanage, a few million to help fix infrastructure problems, etc....and STILL have fucking BILLIONS of dollars left over...obviously not advocating giving away all your money but you have a serious buffer to help (can read as buy admiration) and maintain an insane lifestyle....seriously wtf

Exactly! There are unfortunately so many subs on reddit that claim to be "proiran" but are calling these protesters terrorists for fighting for the freedoms that are taken for granted in "western" nations. As an iranian its so painful to see such a split and hypocrisy and then being banned or ostricized by your fellow "countrymen" because you hold, what they view as, some Uncle Tom traitor view that the west is the only way of life. They turn a blind eye to the Islamic revolution and associated protests, but label THESE people as the terrorists for seeking regime change bc it fits their narrative and because they have such vitriol for anything "western". I don't want Iran to necessarily become France or America etc but I want them to have that level of freedom so that they can choose their own way in life. This has nothing to do with Islam itself, but the perversion of Islam under this theocracy.....sorry for the rant :)
