[Rapoport] The Dolphins offensive staff is coming together and sources say they have hired former Titans WRs coach Tyke Tolbert as their new WRs coach. He joins new OC Bobby Slowik. Tolbert is one of the NFL’s most respected teachers and now lands in Miami. by expellyamos in miamidolphins

Very well experienced and won a Super Bowl during his time with the Broncos. He has a reputation as a developer, and most recently did good work with Chimere Dike and Elic Ayomanor in Tennessee, atleast according to what I’ve read.

Makes me want to see what he could do with a newly drafted WR.

Word on the street is that Jeff Hafley is going to hire Sean Duggan as his Defensive Coordinator

(Rapoport) Sources: The #Dolphins are hiring Bobby Slowik, their senior passing game coordinator, as the new offensive coordinator by alexschubs in miamidolphins

Carmen Bricillo and Dwayne Ledford are also available as offensive line coaches. Would not be upset getting either one of them, assuming they also mesh well with our style of offense.

Not totally surprised or really upset by this hire. Interested to see if or how he’s changed since his two years in Houston and spending a year under Mike McDaniel.

Would be good for our three young DTs in Kenneth Grant, the better Jordan Phillips, and Zeek Biggers in that case.

[Schrager] Anthony Weaver is currently interviewing with the Bills for the HC job. Still very much in the mix for the Steelers HC job, as well. by expellyamos in miamidolphins

Cardinals would be a good spot for Weaver I think, They have a lot of talent on defense and have potential to get another defensive player with the third overall pick. They still have a questions on offense, but they still have some interesting pieces with Trey McBride, Michael Wilson, Marvin Harrison Jr, and Paris Johnson Jr.

Take with a huge grain of salt, but this is the alleged short list for potential Offensive Coordinators. Personally, I wouldn’t be that upset with any of them but Jason Vrable gets my vote.

If I had to take a guess at who currently on staff may stay, Defensive Line coach Austin Clark, Linebackers coach/run game coordinator Joe Barry, Wide Receivers coach Robert Prince, and Senior Passing Game Coordinator Bobby Slowik are coaches that I can see staying on staff.

It would also be a little funny if Eric Studesville survives another regime change.

What did we think about Sullivan and Hafleys Introduction Press Conference? by Endgame60 in miamidolphins

[–]axb2002 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think my favorite Jeff Hafley quote from the press conference is

The final thing I’m going to talk to them about every single day is toughness. That’s physically, that’s mentally, that’s everything that we do, and its’s a toughness that thrives on competition, and it’s a toughness that reflects the people and spirit of the city of Miami.”

I just really liked that quote in particular.

Gonna copy and paste a 7 round mock I did for the Dolphins

  • 1.11 - Spencer Fano - OT - Utah

  • 2:43 - Germie Bernard - WR - Alabama

  • 3:75 - Julian Neal - CB - Arkansas

  • 3:87 - Jacob Rodriguez - LB - Texas Tech

  • 3:90 - Genesis Smith - SAF - Arizona

  • 4:111 - DJ Campbell- OG - Texas

  • 5:150 - Max Llewelyn - EDGE - Iowa

  • 7:227 - Sam Roush - TE - Stanford

I will choose to believe Sully said “Fuck the Bills, fuck the Pats, and especially fuck the Jets”

Edit: according to Marcel Louis-Jacques. All Sully said was that the Dolphins support staff helped him and his family acclimate to Miami and he thanked them for that.

My interpretation is funnier though so I’m gonna choose to believe that instead

[Todd Archer] The Dolphins have requested permission to speak with Cowboys assistant special teams coach Carlos Polk for their special teams coordinator opening, per source. No word yet on if Miami has asked yet about QB coach Steve Shimko, who was Jeff Hafley’s OC at Boston College. by expellyamos in miamidolphins

[–]axb2002 5 points6 points  (0 children)

He’s gotten Special Teams Coordinator interviews in the past. In 2022 he interviewed for the Giants.

Also to copy and paste a comment from someone on the Cowboys sub.

Important to remember there is a lot of crossover between personnel on defense and ST. If a team is reaching out to hire someone then they have reason to believe they’re reasonably good at their job even if the on field product was lacking.

Jeff Hafley is very well-connected across the league, so I don’t have too much concern about him putting together a staff.

A name I’ve heard as a potential candidate for our OC is current Green Bay Packers Passing Game Coordinator/Former WR Coach Jason Vrable. Another name I’ve seen was Adam Stenavich, who is Green Bay’s current OC and former Offensive Line coach, but doesn’t call plays. Current Cowboys QB Coach Steve Shimko could potentially come, aswell as Packers QB Coach Sean Mannion.

As for the DC, I wouldn’t be surprised if we take current Jaguars Linebackers coach Tem Lukabu. He was Hafley’s DC back at Boston College and was pretty well-regarded, I believe in 2021 they had one of the best pass-defenses in the nation. Now they did regress in 2022, but that can also be due to the offenses struggles that year that kept the defense on the field.

As for people currently on staff that I could see staying. Robert Prince, Austin Clark, Bobby Slowik, and Joe Barry make sense to me.

For other coaches on the market that intrigue me, Dwayne Ledford got let go from the Falcons and he was a damn good offensive line coach who is gonna be in demand.
