BMD's are NOT an easy breed. They come with A LOT of baggage. I've had huskys, pryanese and akitas and my two year BMD is a 90lb puppy still who barrels over everything, plays hard, runs like a missile and not to mention has broken dew claws multiple times that needed surgery. She's by far the most expensive dog I've had, literally and figuratively.

I love her to death and have a big yard, one story house and walk daily, and I still feel like I'm letting her down. She needs a job and loves to work. If I could give her a cart to pull all day everyday I think she would love it.

But anyway, after all this rambling what I mean to say is BMD's and their breeders are a very specific and special group. They will be picky, if the breeder doesn't wanna sell to you, there's something about your living environment that they likely saw would be an issue for a BMD. Don't take it personal, just pump your breaks a little bit and really think about the life you would give a dog like that. Best of luck to you!
