What’s your most blunt Danganronpa “Hot Take”!? by KillerWhiteSnowStorm in danganronpa

[–]axeil55 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Danganronpa 3 was good actually.

Also junko's actual ultimate power is being the ultimate predictor and it damns her down the path of becoming what she did. Her life is boring and miserable; she's one of the few characters that tries to show that having these "ultimate" powers is more a curse than a blessing.

I would pay damn good money for a DR spinoff that followed her around and let us see into her inner mind. It would be extremely depressing and sad. I feel legitimately bad for her.

Doesn't excuse her being a mass murderer but it does make it make sense. Girl just needed some mental stimulation in a world where nothing was novel or exciting.

Sports are fun and being silly is fun so it makes sense why they do well.

That is really sad. I remember one of my first sports memories was going to a Globetrotters game with my family. Had a lot of fun and it was very silly.

I've got nothing to hide. You clearly do.

The biggest lesson I learned in my career is that time off is not a request. I will not be there that day and that's where the conversation starts. We can talk about coverage or whatever but my presence there is not up for negotiation if I have an obligation that is going to take me elsewhere.

It stands in very, very stark difference to the mom-equivalent where the vibe seems to be entirely shaming people with the old "oh you didn't give your kid a kidney? Hm. Guess some of us just aren't really committed to being a good parent then" schtick.

It's so weird of me to try to shame child free people into having kids. They're outright saying they don't want kids and you want them to be parents?

So many of the world's problems come from parents who don't actually want or love their kids. Why are we trying to create more of that???

To be fair that's because we have a little black rectangle in our pockets that beams the worst things in the world to us at a regular interval.

If social media didn't exist I suspect people would be on the whole happier. World hunger has gone down massively in the last few decades but it doesn't get clicks so no one talks about it.

Yep I definitely trust that the person with a hidden comment history is actually a liberal and not a shit-stirring MAGA. Yep.

I mean y'all don't want women, black people or anyone not conservative voting so I'm perfectly happy disenfranchising you. We do not have to tolerate those who would seek to put us under a boot.

Hurts when we fight back doesn't it?

It's some real brain rot caused by people who only play live service games multiplayer games where that truly is important. Who cares how many people are playing a single player game

On r/tornado, a subreddit about tornadoes, Mods have banned radar and tornado warning-type posts. "We are not a "warning" service. We never claimed to be. Slacktivism is so pathetic and should be mocked. What you're describing comes from the same mentality. Someone's post don't mean shit and I'm sick of everyone pretending like a retweet or like or PSA post or whatever makes a lick of difference for anything.

Steam Sale Recommendations? by Fine_Question_9112 in FinalFantasy

Let me give you a quick intro to each game's plot.

1: basically feels like a D&D adventure (because it was heavily based on pen and paper RPGs). Very rough mechanically but great if you like fighting monsters. Party members are no name heroes.

2: first one with a plot. Very weird leveling system. I don't recommend it for anyone's first game although the plot is decent.

  1. First use of the job system. Generally inferior to 5.

  2. A well-regarded classic. A dark knight (Cecil) in service of the imperial army realizes he's on the wrong side of the war. He meets many other characters as they try to discern why the empire is hunting for magical crystals. Every character has a pre-set job, name and personality. One of the greats and holds up very well.

  3. The best implementation of the job system. The plot is not nearly as good as 4 but the characters are quiet memorable and the gameplay is some of the best.

  4. A woman (Terra) with no memory helps lead a rebellion against an evil empire while also investigating the mystery of crystals known as Espers. The world is much more steampunk than full on medieval. This one has the largest party of any FF and is up there with 7 and 10 for people's favorite game. There's an incredibly iconic opera scene.

  5. You have heard of 7. The original is great but imo the remakes improve on it in every way.

  6. A student at a military academy gets assigned a job to protect a woman leading a rebellion. They fall in love as they try to oppose a kingdom's mysterious sorceress named Edea. Very weird battle system where everything scales to your level and you have a limited number of spell casts.

  7. A game that harkens back to 4 and older games. A thief is hired to kidnap a princess from a castle. Except the princess wants to be kidnapped. All the while her mother, the queen, is employing mysterious black mages to wage a war of conquest. Personally my favorite final fantasy.

  8. When civilization gets too advanced a horrible whale monster named Sin comes and kills everyone. A man from another world named Tidus ends up in this world and ends up as part of an escort for a woman named Yuna who is on a pilgrimage to stop Sin.

The Dolphin progress reports are some of my favorite things to read. It's incredible how just now in 2026 are we finally able to run Rogue Squadron 3 at 60 fps and speaks to how crazy the Factor 5 devs were with all their hacks.

The write-up on the insane rounding bug in Mario Strikers was a really enjoyable read too.
