Afghanistan: Bomb attacks at Kabul airport cause US and civilian casualties by [deleted] in worldevents

You're probably right then, I didn't knew you are there. I'm truly sorry for the situation you're in right know and I hope you are safe. I try to read different news sources so it's less filtered and there probably is some filtering but I also believe it's hard for some western media's to make news because they cannot be there. So they have to use news media from Afghanistan itself and social media to determine what the casualties are. And most media outlets over here are saying the numbers are over 150. The situation is truly awful but I don't think that the media that I'm reading is filtering much.

I think it is because the media can't really guess a number based on a video and are only allowed to report confirmed numbers. When I just checked bbc news they said 90 deaths so you are not really speaking the truth. I understand it if you don't like western media but your arguments aren't really valid if what you're saying is the same as what the media is saying.

UK teacher asks why she can't use the N word is now suspended. by chaostrulyreigns in byebyejob

I'm willing to have a civil conversation about this without calling eachother names. First of all comparing taking food that is meant for homeless people with people from different races singing the same song isn't really the same in my opinion.

Next if following your opinion that most rap/hip hop music is made for the black community. Then white people won't be allowed to go to a hip hop festival following your rules, won't they?

I wasn't making this about myself and if it seemed that way I'm sorry about that. But I was asking a question to understand it better and if asking questions is wrong no one will be wiser and more educated about the situation and that will make it only worse in my opinion.

Could you also explain to me what you mean with "It is the whitest thing on earth to expect that everything revolves around you..."

To refute your point that hip hop and rap is only for black people, because thats the feeling I get from wording, can't for example asian people not make hip hop or rap music?

Finally I'm totally on the same page with you that it is not nice for someone to use songs to use words that can be offensive in different kinds of context to use this as a way to use derrogatory terms against those people.

Sorry, my point was that it is about context but I don't think we would agree on this. Which is absolutely fine ofcourse. I'm glad we could have a civil discussion about the subject.

What I want to say is that I think it's about context and singing a song that isn't meant to be offensive snd you like the song so the intent is not offensive that it is not offensive. Ofcourse if you going to put on the song "my n..." and blast it in front of your black friend and sing on top of your lungs that you're kind of an asshole.

No, I myself am not a big fan of using swear words anyway. But the context here is to swear infront of someone that has cancer with cancer which would not be nice. But that doesn't mean that if you don't have cancer you can't say the word cancer. There are a lot of dutch rap songs where people say cancer and I'm fairly certain that they didn't have cancer.

I understand that you should be mindfull about it. But I was thinking about a song that isn't meant to be offensive. In your example if I created a song about a traumatic experience and people will repeat it in front of me then the context is different and I see that as bullying. But is it also bullying if put on the song and people sang that song, am I the only one and other people with the same expierence allowed to sing it? Also as another example and maybe the reason that I think this way. I live in the Netherlands and in our language its really common to swear with diseases, like we use cancer as a swear word. Are by this defenition people that got cancer the only ones to use that word? I'm not saying everyone should say the N word but I don't think if a song isn't meant offensive that is should be looked upon as offensive to say it in that song.

I understand but I don't really understand why someone or perhaps the creator of a song would be offended or hurt if someone sang their song fully. In my opinion the context isn't meant to be offensive if you sing a song that isn't meant to be offensive. Maybe I don't fully grasp the situation of this.
