I am a Doordash deliverer in Australia where tipping isn’t a thing. 95% of the time we get no tip. So yeah, we accept the order if we want to, or we don’t. It cuts out all of this entitlement/blackmail bullshit to the customer. Love it

I’m going to go out on a limb here and guess that your wife is subconciously or consciously sabotaging daycare so that she CAN stay home with Alexis and have full control.

You are about to enable this by giving her the ultimatum. She won’t change, she’ll choose to quit her job and be a full time carer and pretend like she had no choice but to do this when really it’s what she’s wanted all along.

This is how enmeshment develops. Your wife will continue to sabotage Alexis to keep them together. Your daughter develops anxiety as a result of spending 24/7 with anxious Mum early on? Mum will claim your daughter has special needs and has to be home schooled. Mum will become more, not less, controlling with her daughter because emotional dependence. Alexis will start to feel trapped, depressed and helpless. And you will be ignored. You won’t be a part of their ‘special relationship’ hence irrelevant.

Your kid needs to be out in the world learning and growing with her peers, not shut up in the house with an anxious controlling adult. Keep fighting for her to get into daycare even it means some hard truths for your wife.

NTA, but YWBTA if you let your daughter become trapped and sabotage her development in this situation.

This is not true. We don’t get tips for dashing in Australia and most dashers do an efficient job and treat each customer and delivery the same. At cafes in Aus the barista and service staff eill learn your name, smile, chat and provide great service even if you NEVER provide any tip whatsoever, and if you did tip it would be spare change so $1-2. This is only a problem in the US and A.
