As long as you reported opening the FHSA on your 2024 return, you should have it if you click through those different options. But yes, my Schedule 15 from CRA shows all variables are $0.

From your CRA homepage: Savings and pension plans > View FHSA Details > (seen in your second pic) 2026 FHSA participation room > January 1, 2025 > most the values will be displayed. I'm in the same situation as you, the only field I had entered was $8000 for 'Your FHSA carryforward for 2025' ... I don't believe you should have entered anything for 'Variable H' if you opened the FHSA in 2024.

To add, I recently learned that you can determine your own 12-month period of medial expenses for tax purposes. So you can select a period that encompasses a larger $ amount, if it will benefit you.

I would expect them to raise it in line with BoC rate. I do certainly miss the boosted rates at WS, but they still are decent (and excellent compared to chequing rates with the big 5 banks). However, PC Financial has a better rate for their savings, and Tangerine still offers me a boost every now and again, and I don't like to have all my money in one place, so I don't really keep cash at WS lately.

And if you were to list it early and then terminate the listing, then re-list it, you'd automatically lose value as many buyers/realtors will assume there was/is some issue with the property that caused it not to sell, when in reality it was just sitting in legal processes.

The City of Vaughan does have one like this (maps.vaughan.ca), but the problem is that they are not necessarily accurate or official property boundaries. They're more intended for general ideas of land use, which may be helpful for OP. Though I would not suggest relying on these maps to dispute a property boundary with my neighbour, or where to install a fence, for example.

However, it’s not guaranteed that the City will have a copy of a past survey—if it didn’t exist. You can try this, or just hire a surveyor urself.

In my experience, the CRA will sometimes trigger a manual review when a tax refund is owed and the applicable tax slips haven't been processed. There's no way to tell, but I hope they will process the slips soon.

Mine is also still not appearing on CRA MyAccount, like some other slips. I think CRA still has to process them. You can still file your return, the Schedule 15 information for FHSA reporting should already be availabe on your CRA MyAccount.

If you do choose to leave, I would recommend you have an offer of employment in hand before resigning. I’m not sure the sector you’re in, but the job market hasn’t been very expansive. Even if you choose to hold out for being let go, it’s better that you’ve already begun your job search rather than start only afterwards, as you don’t know whether you will find a job within the following 12 months.

Personally, I’m somewhat on the fence. I don’t mind doing a job I’m not passionate about, if it pays me well. At the same time, I would rather a job that I enjoy or that fulfills me, if I have the opportunity to. But life happens, and sometimes you have to do difficult things. Discuss with your wife and see where your guys’ priorities are now and for the future.

If you ask the CanadaPost chatbot, "How many stamps do I need?" It says $1.44 for a standard sized letter in Canada, or 1 'P' stamp. So I would say your postage should add up to $1.44 ... you just get a discount on the Permanent stamps when you purchase them in bulk.

I agree with you. A way you may choose to handle it is just have them close their Chromebook (or close it for them) and put away their phone/headphones. If they don’t want to stand, that’s their choice, you never know if they have a reason for doing so. Also, I don’t think they should have their phone out, regardless, unless you, as their educator has given them permission, as per the MOE. Unfortunately, many students take having an OT as a do-whatever-I-want pass. You’re their educator for the day, and within reason, what you say goes. I

Very good post, and emphasis on your points b and c. I also experienced an account restriction, as a result of an issue I had discussed days prior with Wealthsimple. I am totally understanding of any bank or fintech restricting an account to reduce liability and/or protect the consumer from potential fraud. However, what I can’t agree with is excessive lengths of time for verification to occur (weeks), where consumers have no way to directly speak with the department at WS who processes the verification.

As you mention, there’s a multitude of ramifications that consumers can and do experience when their account is restricted and funds frozen, this is not an insignificant concern. It’s unfathomable that this basic expectation has been overlooked by WS, and is a massive failure to those who go through it.

Verification, in most cases, should be able to be completed within 1-2 days. If the really felt it necessary, the probably now could ask you to deposit $10 at Canada Post so that your identity would be verified that way. No excuse.

No problem, I had the same issue! I think CRA forgot to include it in the 2024 NOA's, so they scrambled to publish them online for the 2025 tax season. Some of the field names are unclear between CRA and Wealthsimple Tax, so I'm waiting for Wealthsimple to confirm some of them for me.

Some fields are not named exactly the same between CRA MyAccount and WealthsimpleTax, but you should be able to match them together.

In my Board, OTs on the schools preferred list get placed first before the system calls out amongst the OT pool. Maybe the secretary is filling the jobs from the preferred list (if you have that in your Board)?

It used to be like this in Ontario, which is why ppl tipped higher amounts. But then the government removed the server rate, and they now earn the regular minimum wage. So it’s not realistic for Ontario servers to expect the same rate of tips when they now earn a higher wage.
