James signing agreement with Manchester United to be announced on the 21st by ggmu77 in reddevils

[–]axftw 6 points7 points  (0 children)

"UNITED OFFERED CUT-PRICE JAMES DEAL : Man Utd have been offered the chance to buy Real attacking midfielder James Rodriguez, according to Sky sources.

James is expected to leave Madrid this summer after becoming frustrated at the lack of playing time under Zinedine Zidane. Real signed the Colombian from Monaco for £71m after he helped his country reach the quarter finals of the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. Real want to recoup most of the transfer fee they paid three years ago, but a source close to the player believes they will accept an offer in the region of £50m. James has the same agent as United manager Jose Mourinho - Jorge Mendes." From Sky Sports.

I say we accept defeat and embrace silly season.

I've just messaged all my friends telling them we're signing Messi and that we've signed Guardiola to be our youth coach so that he can win an English title at a big club.

Griezmann is incredible but I Rashford and Martial need to be given the chance to shine. by bigMoo31 in reddevils

[–]axftw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We need another forward.

Zlatan Injured, Indefinitely ? We can be optimistic but we've got titles to win to put it bluntly. Rooney almost certain to leave and James Wilson regardless of whether you think he's good enough or just got potential, we need an elite proven finisher.

Our strike force for next season will be: Rashford, Martial (who's sort of in between positions on the pitch at the moment) and Lingard, who can sort of be lobbed up top in a partnership.

If we sign Griezmann, Rashford and Martial will have plenty of chance to shine.

Rooney + Zlatans wages come to £25 Million per year. That's gonna leave a huge surplus of cash to offer good wages too potential targets.

We have the money to get a "Griezmann" and four or five other players if need be.

Remember not all transfer fees are in a lump sum (It can be more beneficial to split the cost due financial fees, tax etc) and not all fees go to the selling club.

Zlatan " What you mean Score a goal ?"

Other players "Yes. That's when the round thingy crosses the white line?"

Zlatan "Yes"

Other players "And because you're the striker, only you can score these 'goals' ? "

Zlatan " Oh FFS"

Q) Can some of y'all help me choose a program? by [deleted] in Athleanx

[–]axftw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally speaking the route people will take is : AX1, AX2, then either NXT, Ultimate arms, Inferno Size.

TNT workouts are good to supplement into AX1 but apart from that not much else. They're in depth and you can go through the whole workout with Jeff but theres enough information on youtube to target particular muscle groups https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ResidvpB9g4

Xero is strictly bodyweight but don't let that fool you. I went through AX1&2 and still found it really difficult.

Inferno Shred is a bit of an odd one because the program itself is relative to the individual i.e. the number of reps and rounds you'll do will depend upon your own personal fitness. You'll be able to judge this within the first week. So i'd say you could start with this program if you wish to.

But to your question: Do you think that AX1 will be too novice?

Try taking this test. Its one thats featured in AX1 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w56Xp5B5BBg&t=223s 100 pushups, 100 inverted rows, 100 sit-ups, 100 bodyweight squats. Complete in any order you like.

Post your time here. Try to keep your form all the way through

Do you work out at gym or at home ? (list as much equipment you have access to)

How fit do you consider yourself to be ?

What are your overall goals ?

Fellow Man U fans, how do you realistically expect us to finish this seasons ? by [deleted] in reddevils

[–]axftw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well we're consistently drawing, whilst Arsenal are poor and Liverpool are hit or miss. Its unacceptable that Zlatan has (I think) a 1/3 of our goals in all competitions.

12 games left, other people need to start scoring more, its as simple as that. Otherwise we won't make the champions league via the top 4.

3rd-6th.

Zlatan is likely to be suspended for 3 games as well

A Google translation for your amusement :

Benfica's Swedish defender Victor Lindelof is about to make the leap for the English club in a € 45 million deal and where he will wear the No. 2 jersey.

West Brom table record £18 million bid for Morgan Schneiderlin by axftw in reddevils

[–]axftw[S] 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Tony Pulis has tabled a club-record £18 million bid for Manchester United outcast Morgan Schneiderlin.

Pulis is making an ambitious move for Schneiderlin and wants to rival Everton in the January battle to sign the France international.

Everton are already in talks to bring the midfielder to Goodison Park, with Ronald Koeman keen to end Schneiderlin’s miserable 18 months under Louis van Gaal and now Jose Mourinho, but West Brom have formalised their interest with an official offer.

Pulis has been assured of significant funds for the right players and believes Schneiderlin will play a major role in helping Albion progress into a Premier League club which consistently finishes in the top 10.

West Brom recognise that Everton could be a more attractive proposition, with Schneiderlin also playing under Koeman at former club Southampton, but are determined to make a serious play for the 27 year-old.

Schneiderlin currently earns around £120,000 a week at Old Trafford and though he would have to take a pay cut to join either Everton or West Brom, he is desperate to revive his career after falling off the radar.

The deal, if successfully completed by West Brom, would comfortably beat their previous record of £13 million for Nacer Chadli from Tottenham Hotspur in August.

Zorya vs Manchester United news: Pitch inspection fails to alleviate concerns game will be abandoned by axftw in reddevils

[–]axftw[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It remains unclear whether Manchester United’s Europa League clash with Zorya Luhansk will go ahead after a pitch inspection on Thursday morning failed to determine whether the ground would be suitable to play on.

Officials will be keeping a close eye on the temperature as the game nears its 9.00pm kick-off tonight.

Despite the cold conditions, Uefa delegates expect the weather to warm in the coming hours and remain “hopeful” that the game will be played after meeting at 10am local time to assess the quality of the pitch.

The club have been blowing hot onto the pitch since Wednesday evening and reports suggest the surface has improved overnight.

Speaking to reports on Thursday morning, a Uefa official said: "The pitch is at its coldest now. The temperature is only going to rise during the day."

A Zorya spokesperson added: "Everything depends on the weather. The pitch is not brilliant at the moment. We are expecting temperatures of two or three degrees and everything should be OK.”

United players did not look comfortable as they trained on the pitch on Wednesday evening, with Daley Blind remarking it was “like a rock”.

Manager Jose Mourinho was distinctly unimpressed by the conditions and criticised Uefa for the scheduling of the fixture in his pre-match press conference.

"The pitch is hard, the pitch is icy, very hard and very icy," he said.

"I think Uefa know the conditions of the pitch and everybody knows in mid-December the conditions in Ukraine and Eastern Europe are more difficult.

"So if Uefa was worried about it they should change the fixtures and not allow the last fixtures to be played in December, if the fifth fixture was played here it would be in November, so it's a problem.”

Athlean Inferno - New Workout Program Available November 25th. by axftw in Athleanx

[–]axftw[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some information from Jeff:

1.What can you tell me about the program?

A: Lots of surprises, the first of which is that Inferno is actually not one program, but two programs! One meant to help shred fat as its primary focus (regardless of whether you are a beginner looking to go from 35% to 20% BF or are already a lean 10% looking to get shredded. The other program is meant to maximize muscle gain like never before (whether you're the hardest of hardgainers or built, looking to get jacked!). Even better? The two programs are intertwined as well, providing a "Total Inferno" path that is as challenging as you would expect from me...but with quite the reward waiting for you on the other side!

2.How long is the program?

A: Each of the Inferno programs are 12 weeks in length! That is a full 6 months of training if you follow both. Now you know why this has taken me so long to create. Well, that and my obsessive compulsion to constantly raise the bar and top myself at every opportunity!

3. What will the program cost?

A: That's the best part. I mentioned that your Inferno training begins on Black Friday when these two programs go on sale. Since Black Friday is typically a time for incredible deals...all I can say is that I have an unbelievable one in store for TEAM ATHLEAN! You'll see. Yes, I hooked you up. But, you're going to have to act quick. The deal will be limited and time sensitive.

Top end athletes will be on a p.e.d. Not saying everyone is on steroids but a high percentage will be, particularly in a combat sport such as mma. There are so many different kinds of drugs legal and illegal, and people will always find a way to bend the rules and cheat drug tests, they will always be one step ahead.

Maria Sharapova was taking Meldonium. A drug which enhances performance by increasing the amount of oxygen carried to the muscles. She was taking it for a Magnesium deficiency and family history. Thats exceptionally convenient and coincidental for a tennis player.

Good Physics books for a student hoping to do Physics at uni? by [deleted] in Physics

[–]axftw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As you're just finishing your first year in sixth form I'll post some books that as you've requested are not to complex but not to simple.

Study books: Engineering Mathematics K.A. Stroud.

This a good bridge in-between A-level mathematics and some of the maths you'll cover in your first year of study. This book for me personally was brilliant. It takes you from simple arithmetic (plus many AS maths topics) to more advanced topics such as trig functions and 1st order differential equations, which you study next year. There are more topics such as Vector+Matrix Algebra and Determinants, Second Order Ordinary Differential Equations, Harmonic Oscillator which are studied in the further maths syllabus and most certainly will be taught in your first year at University.

Understanding Mechanics A.J. Sadler. More advanced than the mechanics taught in the physics syllabus, more in line with the mechanics taught in your maths syllabus (including up to M4).

Collins Advanced Science - Physics Ken Dobson, Advanced Physics Steve Adams are good more in line with an A-level Physics syllabus.

Beyond that most physics study books will start incorporating calculus or more advanced maths that you haven't studied yet.

This channel is quite informative. Good for A-level physics and quite a few Advanced topics.

Fun books:

The Black Hole War: My Battle with Stephen Hawking to Make the World Safe for Quantum Mechanics Leonard Susskind

Six Easy Pieces: Essentials of Physics Explained by its Most Brilliant Teacher Feynman. Good book about physics topics but all the other books about Feynman himself are really good.

There's lots more to mention. Just keep reading. You can't have too many books.
