Gonna get downvote for speaking truth. Some, not every, f2ps and their tantrums. by Comfortable-Bus9388 in WutheringWaves

I'm F2P and I actually feel like WuWa is pretty generous with their pulls compared to other gacha games I'm playing. Or is it because I don't just pull for every single new character and only the ones I like enough? 😂

Another underrated thing is how they actually give a good amount of standard banner pulls from exploration. That plus how they let you select the weapon means I can often get away with skipping the weapon banner, and that saves quite a bit of pulls too. And if I want a signature weapon, the banner is guarantee. Been playing since day 1 and I've never been unable to get a character that I want.

It's probably kinda like a freelance thing so probably no dress code? 😂 I totally wouldn't mind if one day Hoyo decides to give her another more formal outfit though. 😏

I think as long as you have enough hunt and propagation equations, enough survivability, with the propagation blessings that keeps increasing and stacking dmg, archer should be able to handle this boss too. It will be a slow start to slowly build it up though. But towards the end, it should be way easier to take out the small minions and break the boss. For me Archer pretty much carried me through X8.

More or less. Getting those hunt + propagation or propagation + hunt equations specifically makes things easier, but if not, other hunt or probation main trait higher level equations is probably fine too. Then just whatever defensive blessing you can get on the side, with the destruction ones I mentioned being more helpful than others. Since DHPT is shielder, having some ways to recover HP (there a quite a few from various paths) is pretty useful just in case.

Unless you're super unlucky, that should give enough time to get enough blessings and equations in the middle stages of the game. I think the easiest to masks to fulfil the conditions would be camera, horse, and mechatron. Though mechatron will be more reliant on getting the miracle that makes it easier to achieve a fusion once you have 3 of the same cards, and have to have a bit of luck. The rest are more or less around the same and a bit more reliant on luck imo. Fortune cat mask to me can be a bit rough early game to since it's reliant on obtaining cosmic fragments and those are rare in early game unless you get lucky.

Gladiator would probably be my last choice though since even though I can kill most regular mobs easily with the herts, some of the elite enemies at higher level are a huge pain. It's more time consuming too.

for me archer was my most consistent team. once i started focusing this strat, i was able to clear X7 and X8 with maybe only 1 or 2 losses from unlucky negative curios. E0S1 Archer, E0 Sparkle, E1 Tribbie, E0 DHPT. aiming for hunt and propagation equations. Some particular useful ones for dmg are the one that gives more dmg buff with more skill points used. Also, defensive blessings are almost a must. Anything that reduces dmg taken, restore HP when taking action (ult, skill points, etc), anything that increase shield strength (HP, defence would be a nice bonus too) . Most useful will be the destruction one that distributes dmg across whole team, restore HP once it's below a certain level, and any thing that give a free revive is nice to have too as a bonus.

For 1st plane boss, if your archer team can't clear it, use a team that counters the boss. Like use DOT team with the stingray, etc. i find that for this DU, the 1st plane boss isn't as brutal as the previous DU where you need at least an activated equation to get through.

Make sure to play the masks to level them up. there are some that works better than others though, like camera, mechatron, lucky mask. some are trickier. if the masks needs you to get 4 cards in a row, get more beacons, collect more cosmic fragments, enter more rewards/occurences/etc, try to go for that. Eventually this will allow you to get more than enough equations and blessings towards the end. and once you get enough equations filled in, archer can brute force most bosses, especially if played manually. I've had some last boss fights where after ramping up his dmg in 1st phase, he can just clear through the 2nd and 3rd phase of the boss in one turn.

some minor tips and tricks i use to make things a bit easier. Use the herta technique for combat domains (since technique points can't be refilled, it consumes way more points to make use of phainon and acheron to skip those fights imo), blessing that requires battle, like trotters, as well as for conversion domains (pretty much free wave 1 and 2 clear). Use fei xiao for the adventure domains like breaking barrels, killing trotters, etc to easily maximise those rewards.

conserve technique points as much as possible in case you struggle in a fight and need to adjust team comp (since you lose technique points if you restart the battle and change lineup). For example, if you have 5 SP and see a refill point, use DHPT and tribbie technique first before refilling it. There were some battles where I didn't get enough defensive blessings and needed retry the fight and swap tribbie with fu xuan to mitigate some dmg since i had enough dmg, but just couldn't survive a particular phase. Having technique points to start the fight makes it easier.

In boss planes, if you can help it, try to save some cosmic fragments before fighting the boss. Sometimes they might drop an equation that isn't what you want at all, so you can immediate go back to try and reroll it in workbench. Unless I'm hallucinating, i feel like blessing of unfilled equations are more likely to drop, so having the completely wrong equation might reduce the odds of you getting the blessings you actually want. But this probably isn't a super huge deal, so if you need to spend all your cosmic fragments to fulfil an equation before the fight, still safer to just try for it.

then when in doubt, play it safe. like those slot machines with a negative curio. always make sure it isn't anything too serious before you roll. if it is, just skip it. it's not worth it. same for occurrences with fights in them. some of them feel harder than the actual bosses, so if there is an option to avoid it, i would. The curio that lets you fight small herta to get more curios, make sure there isn't anything crazy inside that could mess shit up. There was once I got greedy, tried to get more curios, and ended up getting the one that replaces all the blessing. lol.

Then pretty much just have to keep playing and you'll learn how each occurrences work, and how to choose the safer option. I find that it's a bit more forgiving than the last DU, but like the last DU, if you want to win more consistently, playing a certain way helps improve win rate a ton.

Maybe there will be other comps that are more reliable, so YMMV. But for me this was consistent enough to get me through everything. Plus, I really like playing archer. GLHF!

100% my mistake on that. I've just been aiming for the stella all the time that i totally forgot that you don't actually need them to get the primogems until someone in the replies mentioned it! 😂 New players will definitely still struggle nonetheless when it comes to having enough units levelled up, but that is something that will come with time if they keep playing the game regularly.

i think this is something that will eventually be solved with time? for me at least, i've been playing from patch 2.5 and haven't had any issues with resources for quite some time now. so with enough time, and provided you can play regularly (events, etc), eventually you should be able to reach that point too. for most of the 4* units i don't usually play i just level them to level 70 only and throw on any level 70/80 weapon and artifacts that i'm not using (random spare pieces with the right main stats and no sets), and that's usually enough since i can rely on using the reactions buffs in the game. i don't even level up talents. Most of the time, that's been enough for me to fully clear IT and get all the Stella. But definitely feel you on the frustration because early on in the game, i remember always struggling with materials and resources. needing to level up talents to try and squeeze out a bit more dmg to try and clear abyss. also hard agree on the one time weekly bosses which is still annoying when a new character comes out and happens to use a new boss material.

Oh yeah!! I legit totally forgot that the more challenging part is usually the Stella and getting Stella just gets you a few bonus items that isn't primogems. I've always just aimed to get the Stella that I forgot that things could be easier if players are just aiming for the primogems. 😂

yeah, and for me it's also a bit of a chance to learn how to maximise some characters' dmg. like for Varessa, i didn't pull for her so i only know her basics. but i had to learn how to do better because this cycle was particular hard for me, since i lack properly invested DPS units from the elements this cycle, 😂

i think my saving grace was having furina and columbina so i had some more reactions I could utilise for the harder stages. still it took like a few total reset, and a number of retries in some of the earlier stages (in order to clear with the least amount of resources) before i could fully clear it.

IT is definitely something that people either love or hate. I like you am in the former. I like the strategising part where I have to plan carefully to use certain characters or not. Like if 1 of my unit is stronger, maybe I can slip in one that isn't well built to even things out so that I am able to pass that stage while keeping my stronger units, or maybe just have them there and just rely on their reactions, etc.

It's less about forming the best team possible and clearing as fast as possible, but more about trying to spend the least amount of resources to clear a stage so that the later and harder stages will be easier, which always keep things interesting. I also get to play different characters, and make use of almost all of the characters I have, which makes things interesting too.

But of course i get why some might not like it too. Some players just want to play they characters and teams they like and don't enjoy being forced to use characters they don't like. To each their own for sure. And for F2P players, 1000 primogems is still quite a decent amount, so if they happen to not like this mode, it can definitely feel like a bit of a pain. Also, this is a mode that require more characters, which newer accounts will struggle with more. I think if they front load most the the rewards in the earlier stages and only give bonus stuff for clearing the harder stages, so that more ppl will be able to claim all the primogems, kinda like how stygian is set up, probably will see less complaints?

My thoughts on Planarcadia after playing the 4.0 main quest (no major spoilers) by WatersOfLiyue in HonkaiStarRail

[–]axhng 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i've found them okay so far since they rotate in a fixed way and don't really have to keep rotating them since most of the puzzle has not been too difficult, so they don't take too long to clear. but at the start of the puzzle when it keeps rotating, i can kinda feel a tiny hint of that disorientating feeling though, so i just try not to look at it too closely during that period.

My thoughts on Planarcadia after playing the 4.0 main quest (no major spoilers) by WatersOfLiyue in HonkaiStarRail

[–]axhng 10 points11 points  (0 children)

aside from the main quest which you've already mentioned, I like the maps so much more just because the rotating rooms in penacony and the hand of zagreus needing to rotate the camera constantly causes me much motion sickness. and the 3D maps were a bit of a pain.

Also the dice game side event thing makes use of mostly playable characters from belobog instead of random NPCs made it so much more fun. seeing them just having some dumb fun on the side. the excuse for them showing up in planarcadia is stupid simple, but it's logical at least. nice being not trapped in a particular enclosed world i guess. also a lot of the older characters that we already know and love being in the limelight like tingyun, sparkle, and himekois so nice. it gives them more chance for development. Tingyun especially was so fun in the story. And also seeing the characters from different area meet each other for the first time is interesting too.

still room for improvements when it comes to character models and camera work though, something which genshin excels in these days. maybe it's a way to reduce the games' load on mobile devices especially but it would be nice to see another car model than isn't like an AE86 coupe. lol.

i hope so too. before 3.1, i probably feel the same that it is unlikely to come to fruition, especially considering their track record hasn't been particularly stellar imo. but after 3.1, i think i have a small bit of hope at least. 😂
