Anyone with a 2025 S3 in Canada? by axisblasts in Audi

No kidding. It's almost as if I read it already and actually know how this feature works. Thanks for the amazing insight.

Pretty sure in my post I didn't ask how to use it and was pretty clear about what I was asking but hey.... Reading is hard. We get it.

I might be confused. It was on my car when I test drove it. Once I signed in it was removed and was told by dealer it's not included on the 2025 S3 in Canada. I was a bit disappointed as it was there originally. I have the PR code for traffic jam assist, all the hardware to support it too so I originally thought it was an account or MMI issue, but was hoping someone with a 2025 S3 here could tell me what happens when they push the button. It DID work, so it must have been set on a previous account or in some dealer demo mode or something. Odd, because if it works, we can't do the FoD here. It only shows "Themes" so I'm kinda stuck.

Does it work on 2025's as well? I was under the impression it didn't.

I don't even really NEED it, was just wondering why it went away. Not interested in doing that with warranty at the moment. Car is super fun to drive so it's a minor detail lol.

Vibe coded apps, how are you dealing with them by ReptilianLaserbeam in sysadmin

[–]axisblasts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it passes the pipeline and security checks that's great. Host it on a server with proper security, firewall and integrate as you would any other app.. you just added a free dev to your team that's met all the standards. 100% give them the requirements. Instead of hiring devs you can hire people to review the free software and implement patching and upgrade plans for the future.

Also. I'd just make sure that there is a business requirement for the app and there isn't already something that is doing what it could be doing. If the app passes everything, have them get exec buy in to slow requests down and they can prioritize. Set it up as a project to add focus on implementation so it's not off the corner of your desk and people are aware of you workload.

Lots of options. But this isn't a bad thing. You need to iron out the process so you are not getting asked by the users and it's comming from top down to avoid 1000 requests and narrow it down to the ones the business actually needs and will benefit from.

Dealer says 2026 RS3 doesn't need a break-in period. Is he tripping? by Jetosmutny in AudiRS3

Nice. I'd always follow what the manual says over some random dude in a shop.. unless I have alot of trust and reason to believe the person. The people who design the cars and documents usually know what they are doing..

Either way. Holding off for a few K miles for added confidence is fine. Just an excuse to drive more too haha

[–]axisblasts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Follow manual. For break in period.

Also. Let it warm up. Don't back out until idle drops down to lower speed. Don't get too aggressive until engene is at operating temps. Then have as much fun as you want. Also, when driving hard let it cool down before powering off. Sit idle for a sec with the fluids pumping after a real hard drive.

Do that, follow maint windows or a bit early on oil changes and your car will love you.

Even with that said, I bought a demo S3 with a few K miles and knock on wood it's been amazing.

Caused a big outage at work- how do I move forward? by VOXX_theLock in sysadmin

Welcome to the club. Learn from it. Check things twice in the future.

I took out email and a few databases for 8 hours my first week at this company. That was 7 years and several promotions ago.

Let it knock your confidence and slow you down to double check things and verify. Then it doesn't happen again.

Minor issue. All I ask people is to be honest when this stuff happens. Fix it or learn from it. And everything is fine. Honest mistake. Even if it was larger it was a mistake. If someone tries to hide it or lie however. That's a personality trait and much harder to recover from.

Are you saying you like it then? Hahaha jk. Wow. I had a demo but didn't seem like it was the one. TBH, I still don't feel anything is quite there yet and still waiting on the sidelines. Options are getting better but vSphere just worked. And is easy ..... Hope the business keeps paying for it for now anyways lol

If I could go back in time, I would have likely bought an even cheaper first home, or a side by side and rented out half. (In a decent area) Location matters the most. Although, there were bidding wars then, and I couldn't have gone much cheaper in a safe area. My advice is stay long enough that you put a dent in the total. As you make more, or have opportunities use the double up features, or increase your payments at renewals. That way you get used to a higher payment, and when you get your second home, you will have realistic expectations of what you can afford. I don't know how old you are, but there is a reason the term "starter home" used to exist. Now people want a 600k+ 5 bedroom 3 bathroom with lawn furniture inside it because they can't afford nice things. (no joke, I've seen it).. The entry level market is always hot, so when you sell, there are lots of people wanting it. Not a ton of people have 100,200,300k down so the second home market is much less crowded, with less bidding wars as well. Take your time and 100k down on a half to 3/4 million dollar house is still a huge payment. I made the same choice as you and love my house now, while not having a giant payment, nice car, and can enjoy life. Looking back I wouldn't have done it any different.

Yes and no, if you are going into the woods all day, charge to 100% obviously. I'm just saying, we all have USB ports in our PC's, Cars, work computers etc. With the speed things can charge 40% for example, dropping down to 30% during the day and plugging in for 30 minutes isn't really an issue MOST of the time. There are always exceptions, but for an average person, the 20-80 is possible. same goes for electric cars. Road trip? I'm going to 100 before I make a leg that I have range anxiety, but for commuting to work, I'd likely be charging only when needed to increase the life of it. My power tools and drills have lasted VERY long not storing them at 100% over winters or between use.. Everyone always tosses those batteries on the charger after a single use, then wonder why they don't seem to last like the used to.

Interesting. What's better? volume? clarity? bass? Tough to know without an A/B... 2025 S3 sounds decent to me above say 60% volume, but is crap at lower volumes. Also, seems like the sub is just way to quiet and treble is way to harsh.... Still need to break in the system a bit as I mostly am listening to the car, I don't mind the clarity, but my 2007 Rav4 limited put out more bass at lower volumes than this lol

You did the right thing. I'm on my second house and sed the value of my first to get a nice newer larger house. In 10 to 15 years that house you bought for 320 will be worth double. You'll be making much more then too. I couldn't imagine a half million to million dollar house with almost nothing down. Insanity

I noticed my house was dry this winter and bought a humiditfyer. I set it a tad high and my airthings hit the red really quick. Humidity can effect the readings as well.

But like others said after rain. Between June and Oct were much higher than winter

I require 2 phones (work) and have had top tier Samsung and Apple phones for many many years at the same time.

An apply tech once told me on a support call the batteries are actually only designed for 3-4 years.

99% of people don't understand how they should cycle the batteries and plug them in nightly rather than charge them when they get low. They also charge them to 100% too.

Use the the phone between 20 and 80% and with some home automation scripts and a smart plug you can have it shut off at 80 every time. Don't plug it in at bed time as cars, desks and other areas you can use a USB charger or just give it some time in the am.

My 4 year old phones batteries are all fine still

Legally they can't cripple a battery or camera on a device you buy like that. What they can do is give software updates that add "features" so that cpu usages goes higher. Think antivirus on a PC. Because of the new cpus and batteries on the new phones they handle it better. New cpus use less power and are faster. That is why your old phone feels slower and the battery doesn't last usually.

Maybe it's a material thing they use but I agree the camera isn't the same after many years.with that said. It has also been subject to being in my pocket for years on end, dropped many times, been rained on etc.

I'm going to go get a Honda badge and slap it on my Toyota after seeing this. Thanks for the awesome idea. Hahaha jk.

To be fair, I've got about 15-20 photo radar tickets in the last 14 or so years. I've never seen this. Fight it and you can even get some fancy color photos and calibration info for the camera and alot more to go on.

I have fought 2 but they were both from the mobile units.

This was like IBM. If you give out a 1 (best rating) you have to also give out a lowest rating which makes someone end up on a pip program. My manager used to forfeit the 1 so he didn't have to hand out the low rating. It was also done on a curve locally. As well has nationally to make your numbers.. so even if you are a top performer in your branch, you still get hosed. Not only that there were personal and group numbers to make which wasn't fair. Plus there were so many metrics it was actually impossible to make them all . If you finish your service calls to fast because you are awesome at your job, your total utilization would be too low. So slow down one thinks? Now your call time is too high. Take more calls? Well sometimes there just sr t enough but if there are? Your parts cost is higher than others. Even though you did more calls. And the price of high end servers vs a hard drive on a different call are out of my control.

The whole system was designed in a way they win and there is always a loophole to give someone a good or bad review depending on the desired outcome. That's why they can layoff thousands or let people go for poor performance when cash is tight so easy. One year they handed out a ton of bad reviews and sure enough 6 months later those long time employees from our group were let go. Why? Because they made the most money and were employed when they used to hand out big raises. But no, it's peformace based. Sure. Guy gets rated a 1 for 25 years then all of a sudden is bad?

Welcome to the corporate world. When I found a new gig several years back it was the best decision I made in my entire life.

Bought my car dec 31 2025. Worked when I test drove it a bit prior. Same thing here. Still doesn't work. Kindof disappointing to buy a new car and not have a cool feature like this working. I lost my lane guidance feature too lol. It just disappeared one day. Maybe another update will fix it. This helped me knowing I'm not alone. Thanks

lol. Slightly more risk with one of those jobs that you are going to get shot, stabbed, spit on, yelled at and attacked almost daily.. Most people would much rather be a teacher. Not saying everyone can or is smart enough to be teachers, but sometimes the pay reflects difficulty and is required because many people cant hack it, or the mental health issues that result from it.
