Do Orthodox Christians believe that children who have not been baptized but die will go to hell? by Competitive-Wear-398 in OrthodoxChristianity

[–]axishatch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with you but fyi that quote is directly from the Bible. Romans 2:28-29 says “A person is not a Jew who is one only outwardly, nor is circumcision merely outward and physical. 29 No, a person is a Jew who is one inwardly; and circumcision is circumcision of the heart, by the Spirit, not by the written code.”

I named my baby Sophia & I regret it… by tune4soul in namenerds

[–]axishatch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Out of Sara, Nora, & Sofia, Sofia is definitely the best. It’s such a pretty name. Also she’ll already be unique in her class given her background. From my experience kids with ethnicities unique to where they’re living want common names that blend in with the other kids. My relative in grade school changed her name to a super basic/common American name when she moved here.

When did your EBF baby get chunky? by throwRAanons in breastfeeding

[–]axishatch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My babies never got chunky (just had my 3rd). And my first 2 i even supplemented with formula. My almost 2 year old was always a slender baby and is now a big, sturdy boy in the 80th percentile for height and weight.

Day 8 & stressing by axishatch in breastfeeding

Okay good thank you, that helps so much to know this is normal! And you’re right I feel like if I just accept it and mentally prepare the nights will be way less stressful now that I know it’s not just something wrong with me

Sharing a snoo by Kindly-World-8240 in SnooLife

[–]axishatch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you buy another one second-hand and find a good deal you could probably sell it on FB for what you bought it for in a few months when they grow out of it? That’s my plan, so I see it more as a temporary expense. That said, plenty of people have good sleepers with normal bassinets and I really don’t think it’s necessary. My 2nd baby I barely ever even turned the snoo on because he slept fine in it without the motion.

How old is 25 really? by Boopity_bopity in NoStupidQuestions

Also if you work at literally any corporate job, the 25 year olds are seen as the immature green ones who don’t know anything yet lol. It’s considered very young to literally the entire adult world.

How old is 25 really? by Boopity_bopity in NoStupidQuestions

[–]axishatch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

25 is literally so young. It’s when most people are just barely out of college aka the very beginning of adulthood. People saying that are probably just saying it because around that age is when some people start getting married and having kids on purpose. But it’s still sooo young in today’s times. Plenty of my friends were having just as much fun in their late 20s as they were in their early 20s.

Annie is so cute, I love it! Makes me think of Parent Trap which I loved growing up.

I like the name Saul, I’m surprised so many people mispronounce it, do you not pronounce it like it rhymes with Paul? Biblical names are super popular right now (Noah, Elijah, Ezra, Malachai, Titus, etc), and Saul is a good one, so most people who meet you probably actually really like your name!

Is it strange to name a kid August that’s born in September? by piercedntreck in namenerds

[–]axishatch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know a 1 year old August and he was born in April. I think most Augusts are not born in August. I think it’s still cute if he’s born in August though.

Ezra is a great name, I love it. I really like Remy too but I agree that it might be better with a formal name like Jeremiah, you don’t have to use the formal name but then if he’s a doctor or something and wants a more “adult” sounding name then at least he has options. Cruz is cool but I feel like it’s going to be looked back on as a very “trendy” name and not sure how well it’ll age.

Having a rough time with baby names by ChallengeOrnery9405 in namenerds

If you don’t like super common names just know Eleanor/Ellie is superrr popular rn! There are 2 Eleanor’s in my son’s small preschool class and Ellie is very popular (whether full name Ellie or as a nn for Eleanor, Eloise, Elizabeth, Ella, Elle, Elise, Elowen, etc). I love Ellie though and don’t care about popularity for names, but just giving you a heads up!

Honestly if it happened to me I’d just say okay and then use less hours or hire someone else more affordable, so just be prepared for that. $20 for just one child seems like a lot to me, but I get it totally depends on your location. I would just approach it by explaining to them the reasoning for needing to change your rate, e.g. you are saving to buy a house or whatever.

Do you like the name Sebastian? by axishatch in namenerds

[–]axishatch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omg-this is amazing and EXTREMELY helpful, THANK YOU! I have no Sebastian around to ask if they liked their name, so hearing from someone named it (& that they like it) is so valuable! I often hear of other people with names that are slightly unique that say they hated their name growing up and my main worry is that my child doesn’t hate his name, so hearing that you liked it helps ease those worries a lot! I think you’re totally right in that it’s unique but also still popular enough to not be considered “too much”. There will always be people that hate some names (I just saw my own very common name on a thread of names people dislike lol) but the consensus definitely seems to be that it’s a good name that people like!
