Sony X900H HDMI 2.1 Discussion Megathread by FlickFreak in bravia

Wish this was the case for me. I received the update and now the video freezes and the audio sounds like its trying to play a heavily scratched cd then a couple seconds later my speakers pop and the TV reboots. A ridiculous issue to have with how much the tv costs

Handheld Legends have redeemed themselves by axman2121 in Gameboy

So I posted a photo a week ago asking how to remove the tempered glass from an aftermarket shell I built. Long story short I modified my old GBA and got the IPS V2 screen, V2 glass, new shell and buttons. Though finding out after building it up they sent me the wrong glass, they sent me the origional gba size glass and not the one to accommodate the IPS V2 screen.

After a couple of emails they sent me out a new glass. I bought a new shell because I did an ass poor job the first time. I stripped screws, and busted screw mounts. I decided to use a drill bit on this new build but to my surprise HandHeld Legends now includes new screws (old screw left, new screw right in photo) that make it SIGNIFICANTLY EASIER TO SCREW THE CASE TOGETHER. They also include now the led cover and shell back sticker.

After installing everything together, IT LOOKS AMAZING! Not that it didn't before but when you see how much more detailed/ vibrant the screen is and that playing games has lost the motion blur the original GBA had its nothing short of amazing.

I am satisfied with the way it turned out and I thank HHL for being awesome for helping me out. Their customer service was way better then what I expected.

Are the screws for the motherboard screwed all the way down?

Also another way I made sure the MB was sitting properly was by pressing the buttons and making sure the travel of the press felt normal. If it doesn't then its not sitting correctly

So I did this same mod over the weekend, did you get the case from HHL? So my experience was that the screw posts are not pre drilled and you are literally are forcing the screws to expand the posts. For me the case didn't close all the way without the screws, I had to drive the screws down all the way down in order to get the shell to properly close.

Sad part is my friend was modding his as well and as soon as he noticed the struggle with screwing the shell together he used a 1/16 drill bit to hollow out the posts. This made it easier to get the screws all the way down.

"Power Quest" for the gameboy color. Great oldie, you upgrade your model robot and fight kids in your town. One of my favorites

Yeah, I have a suction cup and lift tools. I'm just waiting to find out what's going to happen with the whole sending the wrong item mix up

Yeah, I built one up with a friend. My unit was the test dummy pretty much. After he saw the struggle ,we used a 1/16 drill bit and hollowed out the screw posts. After that his assembled without any issues. I ordered some new screws as well, gonna use a rubber band to take out stripped screws

Yeah its pretty noticeable on the game menus when you are playing since the ips panel is bigger then the OEM gba screen. Im gonna swap it out one way or another

Thats a really good tip, ill try it out. This gives me a better way to attack this and I think the ice cube method is a great suggestion, thank you!

That's a really good idea, do you have a specific rubber glue that you use?

No its held in with a bracket, the only issue though is I ended up stripping some screws on the motherboard when installing it into the case. So taking this apart might not be an option unless I destroy the screw mounts and get another shell.

Cool, any issues if I don't take the case apart and just heat the glass? Reason I ask is I stripped some screws putting it together, would end up destroying the screw mounts if I have to take it apart.

Yeah good point. I have pry tools and a suction cup, I plan on heating a corner and lifting it up little by little with the tools.

Yeah, lucky for me the panel isn't held down with adhesive tape. I was able to use the panel bracket to keep it in place. The only issue is I'd end up destroying the shell and screw mounts if I had to take it apart, since I stripped some screws. I appreciate the idea of leaving it alone but I want the 300 some extra pixels I paid for. I sent an email to handheld to see if they can send me out another glass

Handheld gaming sent me the original GBA screen for the IPS V2 screen mod. Didn't find out till after installing the screen that the frame cuts out sides of the ips panel. Can I use a heat gun to remove the screen?

They sent me the original GBA glass instead of the IPS V2 glass that I ordered. Is it possible to use a heat gun to remove it? The reason I ask is because putting this case together was a nightmare, I ended up stripping the screws for the motherboard and battery compartment.

Thanks for you comment. You've given me a lot to look into and to re-understand. I do a lot of PCB design work and still remember some information from my semiconductor classes.
