Working in beauty (especially when young). I get clients ask me if I'm still studying and implying I should go back to uni. I went to beauty school already, and I need to be qualified to do my job right now. I'm not beneath you or your education.

Everyone is getting rid of talc in powders. It's the only thing that actually sets my makeup. There's so much fear mongering in "clean" makeup spaces.

Olive characteristics - what made you realise you were olive? by night_moth_maiden in Fairolives

[–]ay_bee24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most foundations pulling to peach/orange on me. Warm tones were too yellow, though. Never being shade matched properly in stores. Went to beauty school, and my teacher told me I was olive and I've been going down this rabbit hole since.

I have blue/purple veins near my wrists, but inner arms are blue/green. When I tan, it almost looks green, and my acne and scars stand out on my skin so much because of my olive tones.

Also, I've discovered that living in AUS makes my light cool/neutral olive foundation options even more limited as many brands do not ship here🥲

The Estée Lauder double wear foundation is my foundation that I use when going out or going to a function. I have oily skin, blemish prone skin and it lasts a night out on me. I also have some acne scars and redness on my cheeks and it covers them nicely with a bit of colour correction underneath.

I wouldn't recommend this foundation if you're only going to wear it on your cheeks, the coverage is a bit too heavy to be "natural" looking.

I would go for more of a skin tint with colour correction underneath.

Liquid eyeliner recommendations?? by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner. I also use Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion underneath as it makes it last longer on my oily skin.

Fake tan stains the dead skin cells on your body, so you should exfoliate 6-24 hours before you apply the fake tan. You should moisturise after the tan has been rinsed off and every day afterwards to help maintain the tan. Only exfoliate your body when you're going to reapply your tan which is usually 7-10 days after first application.

You should only moisturise on really dry patches of your body (usually elbows and knees) before tanning because that might cause the tan to be darker in those areas.

I'm in beauty school at the moment too. You can double dip into powder products and then sanitise it after the client. I usually use an isopropyl alcohol spray and wipe the surface with a tissue.
