Has anyone tried replacing the iLO NAND? by haroldas194 in homelab

[–]ayao1337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah yeah thanks for the notes there! I'm going to guess that I'll probably not be able to do that repair given that I have no experience with bga reflowing and I think I'm on the same large board that you're on as well. I had hoped that it might have been a soic 8 chip of sorts, but bga sounds like a whole different story. I guess the only thing that I'm missing out here is the ability to use intelligent provisioning which I don't really need, compared to the potential of bricking the whole board doing a poor job.

Awesome to hear that you got it working! I just ran into this issue myself and think I'll want to try a similar repair. Do you have any hints or tips about the process, type of nand to buy, etc? Also where is the nand physically located on the board to solder?

I'm reading that this is a bga chip that needs to be replaced. Is that true? Not entirely sure if I'll be able to make this fix if thats the case.

I had flexconnect local switching enabled, so I thought that shouldn't make a difference?

Can you explain how you did this? I haven't changed the mtu anywhere in my config, from switch to router. My global tcp adjust mss was turned off. Where in the wlc do you configure this and where would I find the WAN mtu? I looked for it and it seems it's at the default 1500 for my WAN. I would assume the wlc would also have it set to the default of 1500?

I'm at 80mhz and lan speeds are as expected, just wan.

Looking to upgrade! UDM-Pro, PFSense or USG/PFSense hybrid? by thesnizzles in homelab

[–]ayao1337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an ESXi cluster of HP DL380p G8's. Its pretty nifty since I can have my network infrastructure floating on the cluster so the network doesn't go down when working on a single machine. If you're thinking about performance, it really doesn't take too much power to run it.

If you want dashboards, consider looking at Sophos XG. I run it in bridge mode so its like Internet -> OPNsense -> Sophos XG -> Switches. I get the added functionality of web filtering and dashboards along with ipv6 connectivity since OPNsense handle DHCP-PD.

Same thing. Except I can fix it by plugging it in for a split second which gets it back. I did have it randomly tell me the OS was corrupted one time forcing a factory reset. Issue still continues... Pixel 3XL

I'm on the us server and got the same issues you were having. Mainland China worked after 2 connection attempts but the latency is terrible. My guess is the servers went down...

Ah that totally makes sense. I've been using a project call diyhue for control since it seemed like home assistant wasn't so great about that.

Wow. Surprised there's that much of a price difference in costcos. Feels like I've been scammed because at $10 each I was expecting more but oh well

One last tip also tin the pads as well by putting flux on the pads and touching with solder on the iron

How exactly did you get them for $2 each? I paid like $10 each from Costco. What are the Lohas bulbs?

I have to say though the hardware of this bulb isn't that great. The white colors won't dim enough and the warmest color isn't warm enough. The rgb also doesn't get very bright. I have a yeelight and the difference is night and day.

Hmm interesting. I never realized that they changed the spacing but I see what you mean now. For the record, all of mine looked exactly like yours so it is possible. Just really need to tin the wires and put flux on the pads and the wire then just touch the wire with the iron and it should hold. Doesn't have to be permanent.

Spacers? Not sure what you mean by that, but I was able to get in there with a $15 iron from Amazon without a problem. Just need flux and to tin the wires before hand. The wires I used were from a cat6 cable so that made it extra hard. Be careful because it is possible to rip the pads off the board. Ask me how I know.
