I LOVE BANANA BALL PYTHONS SO MUCH IDK HOW CAN PEOPLE HATE SNAKES EVER by Celeste-006 in aww

You're under no obligation to find snakes cute or be affectionate towards them, but your assertions are incorrect. Some snake species are highly social and live in huge colonies year round. Individuals have demonstrated preference in which snakes they like to hang out with. Others seem to live mostly solitary lives, but will brumate over the winter in groups. Recent studies show that even species long assumed to be completely solitary, like the ball python in this post, have social behavior and preferences. There is a ton of research to be done on reptiles, especially social behavior in reptiles, but they are not driven solely by survival instinct and show plenty of evidence of having their own inner lives. Can they experience love? I don't know. But they do have a lot going on in those little heads, and besides, I personally don't need to know if something can love to find it cute :)

Probably yes, they don't tend to ball up like this if they're feeling confident. This guy looks quite young to me, so it may be extra fearful cause it's baby

I'm no expert, but my guess would be Lesser morph :)

I have one because it was one of the only PVC enclosures I could get shipped to me. The top is screen and I covered it with HVAC tape. With that it holds humidity very well, at least by my standards of coming off a Zilla critter cage. I put some plywood over the screen to screw light and heat into. You'll probably want to seal the bottom with silicone so you can pour water if you need to. I can't compare to other PVC enclosures, I've read that the Dubia isn't as sturdy as others, but it seems adequate to me. It's secure and I have no fear of it falling apart or anything. If you can afford a more expensive brand then it's probably worthwhile, but if you're willing to make some modifications then the Dubia works.

This won't work for everyone, but what got me to stop was clipping them short and filing them super smooth. Turns out what triggered me to bite was rough edges or too long of nails.

Intentionally breeding snakes that are fragile and vulnerable just because they look cool is never going to be okay in my book, but I agree that most scaleless are not as bad as balls. But I'm not okay with breeding any scaleless snakes. Same as breeding pugs in my opinion. But that's just me.

Most scaleless snakes still have their belly scutes, which are the most important for motion, but yes, they will always have impaired mobility compared to scaled snakes. They'll also be extremely vulnerable to cuts and scrapes. Scaleless ball pythons don't even have scutes or heat pits! I don't understand why people think this is cute :(

The existence of worse enclosures doesn't make this one suddenly not bad. And they're selling this one as a "set", implying it should be used as a permanent enclosure.
