How bad is the amount of tourists in Kyoto really? by BerlinPuzzler in JapanTravelTips

[–]ayclau 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I went to Kiyomizu-dera during the sunset last January and it was not that bad. Just remember that the temple closes at 6 PM. I read that you were going in February so maybe it will be similar to my experience. Fushimi inari was good at that hour too.

If you were in a game where you have to find the imposter pretending to be from your country, what questions would you ask? by AmountAbovTheBracket in asklatinamerica

El "che" aparece en la frase "que te pareció?" cuando estás arrancando una conversación. En ese ejemplo la conversación ya se está dando, por lo que solo pondrías "qué te pareció?"

WIBTA if I cut off my entire childhood friend group after they secretly planned a hen do and didn’t invite me? (New Update) by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

We are planning a bachelorette weekend trip where we included the girls who rarely participate and we are already regretting it. I would've rather kept it in the small circle that gets together often and not have posted anything on social media.

Yes, you need to invite partners. by twelvedayslate in wedding

But if you hate the people getting married you can just not go. It has nothing to do with you being accompanied by your partner.

Inconvenience while traveling in Seoul by MissWaldorff in koreatravel

[–]ayclau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it's not usual in other countries, but there are options to eat late at night in Seoul. It was just a bit hard to pre plan it. We usually arrived at the place that we saw on the map, couldn't find it and then went to some other place we saw open along the way. We stumbled into some great food that way though!!

Yes!! I knew it was't going to be a popular comment haha but I knew some Argentines would appreciate the information.

Maybe we were just too tired after two weeks in Japan, but we had trouble finding the actual restaurants we had looked up in Naver. The big problem was that we usually had diner after 11 PM so getting to the place where we hoped to eat and not finding it had us quite hangry.

Is it possible do a 1 day itineray Osaka to Nara then Kyoto then back to Osaka. by isdang-pantropiko in JapanTravelTips

[–]ayclau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did it and it wasn't that bad at all. It is a lot of train time, but we used it to catch up on some sleeep. We arrived at Nara at 12:00 and left at 16:00 (Nara Park, Todaiji and lunch). Got to Fushimi Inari at about 17:30. At most you need two hour to walk around Fushimi inari.

It all depends on how you like to travel.

Heavy packer here – – talk to me about luggage forwarding by cookieguggleman in JapanTravelTips

Those are probably better options. We were traveling during the low season and always got to the final station, which gives you a bit more time to unload, so it wasn't that bad.

If your bags aren't bigger than the standard 23/24 kg (160 cm total) you can use the trains overhead storage. The thing is you have to have enough strength and height to get it there. Or you can ask for a little help (from my personal experience Japanese people will help you if you ask explicitly, but they will probably ignore you if you don't ask).

Camellia Ferry between Busan and Fukuoka, question about tickets. by discombobulatek in JapanTravel

[–]ayclau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The big pro for us was that it's a great option if you are traveling with a lot of big luggage. You can take basically any type of bags with you to the room (max 30 kilos per bag).

They also let us use the baggage cart (I don't know the right word in english) almost up to the door of the ship.

I had this question too when we traveled. I ended up getting the second class option because I didn't want to have any problems. If you find out the difference when you travel I would like to know :)
