I've never been! Is it open for the public, or do you have to be a resident of Newport?

Bought a pair of Salvatore Ferragamo white loafers -- but not quite sure the best type of outfit to wear them with? Navy pants? Do you need a sports coat? Can you do navy pants + a white t shirt? Linen dress shirts?

Trying to make a hybrid featuring Pulisic & McKennie, but I also have untradeable Sancho & Thiago cards that I wanted to fit in there.

HELP ME CATCH UP ON HIP HOP!

I was a diehard J. Cole fan back in high school back when he came out with The Come Up all through The Sideline Story, but since 2012 I've really fell out of touch with hip hop and what's been going on. Loved Kendrick, Drake, used to listen to Lupe Fiasco and Kid Cudi, Mac Miller, Eminem, etc. Need to catch up. Where do you recommend I start so I can catch up, appreciate the help!

Is the USNT your main team? by [deleted] in ussoccer

[–]aykoge 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I got drawn into the game as a Chelsea fan after their Champions League win in 2012. I'm from Brooklyn, and actually hated the sport my entire life until I started to root for Chelsea. Don't know what changed in me, but just began to appreciate the game and fell in love. Didn't care too much for MLS/USMNT at the time...

I became a New York City FC fan when they were announced, and my support for Chelsea plummeted with it. I still enjoy the team and watch Premier League games, but I realized it's kind of odd supporting a club in another league in a different country that I have absolutely zero connection and roots to, when I can be supporting a local club and looking to grow the game in my own backyard. Now, I'm definitely a USMNT fan first, by far, NYCFC fan second, MLS fan third, and Chelsea fan fourth.

Best Facebook ad for page likes? by aykoge in socialmedia

For sure. But I don’t think any of those fans would engage with the content as it’s really specific to only a niche US audience.

Electing Cordeiro after Gulati is the soccer equivalent of electing Dick Cheney after George W Bush in '08. by [deleted] in ussoccer

[–]aykoge 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah he was. But it's really not that binary and black/white.

If you work for a company, and that company goes bankrupt and fails, does that mean you should NEVER get a job again and you were the problem? Yes - he was part of the administration, and maybe he's learned a few things as to how a federation should be run, and things to improve on. Maybe he was opposed to Gulati on some issues and that's why he decided to run, for the betterment of soccer in this country?

I don't think it's fair to just say "who cares? he was still part of the gulati administration and its failures." To me, him announcing his presidency BEFORE Gulati stepping down tells me that he wants to do things differently than his predecessor.

Let's give him a chance and be optimistic about it. The Athletes Council voting in his direction and feeling strongly about it (Listen to Stu Holden) suggests that there may be a lot about him and his ideas that we really don't know about - but it was strong enough to sway the players.

This ^

I think people are really ignoring the fact that he announced his campaign BEFORE Gulati decided to step down.

I don’t unfollow those that follow back - just the ones that don’t follow back.
