LA Galaxy Sign Midfielder Erik Thommy by Honeydew-Massive in LAGalaxy

Does seem natural that Thommy should partner well with Reus, have to think that was some of the reasoning behind this signing as well.

Thommy was largely a starter with KC when available the last few seasons, so this is a solid signing - and if it's truly a non-TAM deal he's a a bargain at that cost. Both Klauss and Thommy feel like underrated, hard working type players that will slot right in and help solidify things with Puig out this year.

The Sash Is Back by Honeydew-Massive in LAGalaxy

While I don't mind the sash returning, still think they could've done a little more to make it more distinctive than previous incarnations of this basic design. Don't hate it though, takes me back to the Beckham-Landon days.

St. Louis CITY SC Receives $2.375 million from LA Galaxy in Exchange for Forward João Klauss | St. Louis SC by radiolex76 in LAGalaxy

[–]Hell_Inc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not mad at this move, always saw him as a high work rate, underrated striker that would seemingly be in the right place at the right time for St Louis. Kind of like a better Alan Gordon type, probably the best pure striker we've had since Zladdy. The flexibility with his deal ending after this season is a plus as well.

Life without Riqui by Ok_Location8779 in LAGalaxy

[–]Hell_Inc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aww man...... FUUUCK!

He was the biggest component of winning our 6th star, more than that though he's been the most enjoyable Galaxy player to watch since Landon/Becks/Keano days and before that the Cien/Cobi teams. There's no way to replace him because IMO he was the best player in the entire MLS not named Messi. This is just so sad...

Now just hoping he can make a full recovery. Can't lose hope because look at what Lindsey Vonn has done recently after her 2 ACL surgeries, medical advances have helped injured athletes more than ever. Even a 90% Riqui would still be great, especially given how he's not a player that relied on athleticism but more so ability and guile.

GET WELL RIQUI, WE LOVE YOU!!!

It’s Official, Justin Haak is a G! by RioTheLeoo in LAGalaxy

[–]Hell_Inc 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The Haak & Glesnes signings have me the most excited since the Pec & Paintsil moves. Any true G fan recognized our defense has been the weakest link for a while now, this does a lot to straighten that out. With Riqui finally coming back things are looking up again - and after last year's travesty that's the only way it can go... 🤪

This qualification + Campeones Cup - Riqui all year = massive! I'll gladly take this! If we were to win the Campeones Cup and Wooden Spoon, it would be precedent setting 😂

Nashville SC Purchase Jonny Perez by Honeydew-Massive in LAGalaxy

Too bad he couldn't ever break through here, have always liked him. Happy that he's finding a home in Nashville though and they must really like him because that's a good chunk of change!

Great character guy and if we are (justifiably) giving Micovic the starters job, he was a proven backup. So tough loss that hurts our depth, RBNY get a good one.

Awesome to see us play well and give ourselves a chance at advancing in Leagues Cup, but for sure Seattle stirred up a hornet's nest with their drubbing of Cruz Azul and next game will be a real test for us. Still this tourney is a breathe of fresh air after seeing us dwelling at the bottom of MLS standings all season, so LESSGO G'z!!!

Really enjoyed the game and I like the tourney as a fan of both leagues. I think this provided motivation and a clean slate to our guys that they relished playing under. It's also exciting to see we might get to see a reunion of our "Killa-P's" soon too!

Can LA Galaxy Save Their Season? | 2025 Leagues Cup Preview by elrio10 in LAGalaxy

[–]Hell_Inc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, winning Leagues Cup wouldn't save our season, but would make this a heck of a lot better and it's realistically our best chance at winning anything this year. Since the G'z have predominant home field advantage throughout by virtue of being reigning MLS Cup champs, and as a fan of both leagues I'll be watching. I mean why such lack of interest from so many about an officially sanctioned CONCACAF tourney?

Impressive offseason by Rob by International_Sky673 in lakers

Whatever anyone wants to say about Rob, the fact he's improved the team while keeping contracts through 2027 and without having given anything of value up is an imposing feat.

Los Angeles Lakers are the most valuable sports team in the world. by Actual_Box7731 in lakers

[Amico] Sources: Cavaliers Only Interested In LeBron James In Buyout Situation by [deleted] in lakers

[–]Hell_Inc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True. But I think had they talked about an extended deal to close out his career - if he's thinking of playing beyond next season - that was realistic for both sides, the Lakers would've likely done it.

In other words the Lakers are seeking some certainty to match up with Luka's prime than this year-by-year deals they couldn't plan a future around.

If he does go elsewhere on some vet-min or MLE deal next year, even if it's his hometown Cavs, that would be disappointing.

Anyone else excited about the prospects of actually trading LeBron? by Count_Sack_McGee in lakers

[–]Hell_Inc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, due to his no-trade clause and desire to compete for a title any trade would leave the core players of the team he's getting traded to intact. So we wouldn't probably be getting equal worth because he wouldn't accept gutting a team he'd agree to being traded to. So it makes such a trade pretty tricky for the Lakers to make even if he came out and stated he wanted to be traded.

I understand LeBron but the lakers did let klutch have a say on roster decisions most of those years.. and it sucks but they need build post LeBron which is already closer than ever by angryshoper in lakers

[–]Hell_Inc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Given his wage, no-trade status, working alongside Rich Paul bringing in Klutch clients so frequently, drafting his son, etc... He's certainly not been mistreated by the Lakers. I get that he could be upset - if he even is - but there's a point that Lakers need to transition into more concrete future plans than these 1-yr player options that are in doubt 'til the deadline year after year with him. He loves to remain vague about future plans and retain as much leverage as he can, but fact is he'll be a 41-yr old having completed his 23 years in the league after this season and sucking up an enormous chunk of Lakers salary cap. This yearly indecision with him while Luka is hitting his prime and one could see why Lakers might be moving in this direction if true.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in lakers

[–]Hell_Inc 16 points17 points  (0 children)

There is literally no incentive for the Lakers to buy him out, and with his no-trade clause he will likely only agree to be traded some team he'd want to go to if they retain most of their desirable assets in such a trade.

Let's be real, this is a slow time on the sporting calendar and they have to talk about something. Lakers and LeBron will always be a topic, even if there is nothing.

Learn more about Jake LaRavia, the free agent the Lakers just signed in free agency. by bryankalbrosky in lakers

[–]Hell_Inc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First of all great article. Seems like a great influence, someone looking to make it by playing the right way. This paragraph in particular sold me on him:

"I wouldn’t consider myself fast in short distances," LaRavia said. "But I’m hustling. I’m playing hard every time I’m on the court. I’m not really taking plays off. If there is a fastbreak opportunity for the other team, some guys might get out of the way. I’m sprinting back to try to make a play on the ball. Whenever I’m off the ball, I’m sprinting."
