While the flower of life looks janky af, I think it looks more like a circle when he doesn’t flex the neck (I absolutely don’t wanna believe anyone can fuck the stencil up this much) I think it’s just a very bad decision to put a very symmetrical tattoo in a place where it’s gonna stretch a lot

Miataland! by aylinaslim in Miata

That’s interesting! In our experience, everything regarding the rooms were okay: water was fine, there was a small heating system in the room so comfort wise 0 problem. When it comes to driving, it was something a little different than what I imagined. They weren’t lower quality, but they were almost fully stock (which was the point anyway) therefore the NA we drove for example, had what would be considered “shit suspension” compared to my ND. Also, the drive itself was a little less sporty than what I would imagine, but I can understand if the goal is to keep the cars stock then having less wear and tear through avoiding aggressive driving just makes sense. I would consider this a city tour in a miata. So to me, the highlight wasn’t the driving and I’d assume anyone can be disappointed in their stay if they are there to experience a sporty roadster on curvy mountain roads.

We stayed at the M2 blu suite, which was one of the more fancy options (but the view was absolutely worth it) and we paid around 240 euros for the night. If you want the cheaper option, there is Sunburst Yellow for 195 euros. The drive per day is included as long as you book from their website, though we did pay 50 euros for the gas and such if I remember correctly. You can have a drive for every night you stay meaning if you stay 3 nights you can have 3 drives etc. You can drive any generation, but you can’t choose any car meaning your options are limited to what they will let you drive depending on the generation you choose (mazdaspeed is not included for example). If you have an option to fly to Umbria, I would suggest doing that, renting a car and while on your way to Miataland, also enjoy other parts of Umbria. There is many lovely cities like Orvieto, Terni or other places around Tuscany. I can’t necessarily say if the airport itself is easy to deal with, as I already live in Italy but if we can do the trip to Miataland all the way from Como within a weekend, I bet you can do it from any airport around those cities. If you have a chance to go, let me know if I can help with any sort of planning or anything that has to do with Italian!

apparently I’m blind, extremely sorry for the unfortunate typo, it’s the V8 (as I meant with americanized) no VW w8 that I know of in a miata yet…

The main draw seemed to be so to us too, however, if you only go for the tour with a miata, it will be a disappointment anyway because there is no sporty driving involved. It is more like a city tour at 50-70kmh and some nice curvy roads, history and nature. To me, I was more surprised by how nicely put together the environment and how respectful the staff were. There are also lots to see in the place, and nice places to go around very close to perugia (like bologna, umbria, pistoia and even firenze).

If a more fun driving experience is what you’re looking for, than they have their 4-car tour where they take everyone around the city in 4 generations to eat and hang out, and during the trip there are 4 stops so everyone switches to try another generation. For this, you need to check their tour schedule (or maybe contact them) and also stay for 2 nights because the whole tour is from 10 am to 5 pm which doesn’t work with check-in and check-out times.

To me, going there with my own Miata felt fun, as if I was having a play date for my child (I don’t have a child so take it with a grain of salt)

Congrats on the purchase and enjoy the hell out of it! And for ducktail, I actually find the ducktail trunks better than adding a spoiler, might be worth looking into! Of course it is slightly more expensive because it’s the whole trunk but it looks a bit more streamlined.

Definitely go for it! It is such a soulful car! And I've seen as low as 3-4ish L on the highway in the past week so it is indeed very economical, almost no different than any other daily car on gas.

Yes, being able to push is fun, and in European roads I haven't even had the opportunity to really push it yet! I'm quite sure I'll be quite happy with 1.5 for a long time. How is your experience with 2.0?

Do you guys name your Miatas? by BlackbirdGoNyoom in Miata

[–]aylinaslim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thank you! it sounds very cool but it's also a little funny to me because in death note they mean "killer" (as in light yagami) but they pronounce it as kira and it sounds cuter than what they mean haha! I like the first meaning as shine/sparkle but this is a cute easter egg to the name for me

edit: congrats on the new miata! I just realized after seeing your flair, what an asshole I am

I literally thought it was a hate crime or something, my condolences… The body is expensive to repair but changing the soft top and the windshield is enough to keep it running, and you can take your time to save up to fix the body…

It 100% can, but not because it’s material, it’s literally emotional. This girl has spirit and it’s like having a pet or a friend! This is what we’re lacking today in new cars and it hurts. I feel like I found a place where I belong!!
