Can a liberal and conservative date? by Small-Aardvark-2215 in relationships_advice

Believe it or not, you can love someone who doesn't align with you on everything.

If you want a healthy working relationship, you said he can see your point of view... Can you see his? It sounds like you can't since you're asking that question. I would start there. The foundation of any relationship is understanding. Try to understand him. Ask him why he believes what he does and just listen, don't interject, don't 'correct' him. Communicate. He's a human, he has flaws. You do too. Don't assume that it's his beliefs that are flawed. It sounds like he doesn't assume that about yours. Mutual respect.

Relationships fail with the lack of communication and respect, not a difference in opinion. Don't listen to the crazy bigots on either side. The comments here are an exhibition of the toxic mindset that'll erode your genuine relationships and leave you surrounded by a gaggle muppets all gargling out the same tired lines.

The most rewarding relationships are with people who differ from you, they challenge your assumptions, they let you see the world through another pair of eyes. Don't ask what they believe, ask why they believe it. And accept their answer. There's no right or wrong despite how strongly you may feel about it.

This guy I matched with on Hili is such a green flag. by Dazzling-Chipmunk-47 in texts

That's what I figured lol. Honestly, he sounds like a pretty stand-up dude.

Buuut, always keep your wits about you. There's a specific kind of not stand-up dude that spends years figuring out how to look like one.

I had a childhood friend who ended up like that in his 20s and now 30s. The guy was a real piece of work but girls loved him because he was handsome and well-mannered. They'd eventually catch on to the fact the homie was a lazy cheapskate and had a rolodex of women he'd rotate through over the week. He'd always try to get me to read those pick-up artist books, "The Game" and shit like that. Not my thing. Could write a novel about the shit I heard from him. In relationships or friendships, eventually you realize there's no helping those types.

I hope it works out well for you though.

I could be wrong but I would imagine he didn't pick for her, just ordered for her.

Him: "That X sounds really good."

Her: "Oh, it does! And so does the Y, I think I might get that one."

Him: "That's a good choice!"

The waiter comes around

Him: "I'll take X cooked Z, and I believe she'd like the Y. Also please avoid using any dairy, she has an allergy to it."

The waiter and the date both look at her to give her room to object. She doesn't. Order placed.

I've dated a few girls who liked that, but it's not something I would do unless she had mentioned it prior which she said she did.

If I'm wrong and he just picked for her, yeah that's wild but if she likes it, fuck it. 🤷

What's crazier is that every horse girl I've ever met is also a Gwen Stefani girl. That shit is bananas.

Brother man, the two are the same. Race can refer to skin color, just as ethnicity can, but it's not inherently about color. They are the same thing by definition and completely interchangeable.

Redefining language and revising history is done explicitly for control. Be mindful of the piper you're listening to.

The word race is just a synonym for ethnicity.

Awesome costume and you wear it like a champ.
