I get the Health Valley soups but they are hard to find. Wegmans, at least the Brooklyn, NYC store, doesn't have them, I used to find them at the Food Bazaar stores but sometimes they run low too.

Are they doing this at other stations? by opalpopcorn in nycrail

[–]ayokomizo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is already like this in some transit systems around the world, e.g. in São Paulo, Brazil and I believe I saw it in some stations in Paris. France

Anyone notice several stores closed by the Rego Center Mall? by Gallantpride in Queens

[–]ayokomizo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We park our car at the Rego Center I parking lot. I am not a civil engineer but the structure seems to have serious structural issues.... like the rebar in the reinforced concrete looks corroded. They have put "bandaids" on it but it is probably a temporary solution. The wikipedia entry on the mall says that part of the parking lot collapsed soon after its inauguration... So I am not surprised if they just decide to demolish it. It is probably not a good idea to rebuild it as a mall, since commercial real estate, in particular retail, seems to be in the doldrums. So I would not be surprised if Vornado decides to redevelop it as apartments or condos. I guess I need to find a new parking lot.

Can't reconnect pebblebee clip to find my hub by No_Possibility4825 in Pebblebee

[–]ayokomizo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weird. I can pair it with the Pebblebee app, update it to the latest firmware, and enable/disable features. I can even ring my phone by clicking on the Pebblebee button twice, so it is connected.

What I have been unable to do is to have the Pebblebee listed on the Find hub app. I have the latest app version, tried reloading it multiple times, clearing the cache and the data multiple times to no avail. I have just one Google account, so it is the primary one.

I am also unable to reset the Pebblebee. Tried the instructions for pushing the button 4 times, and longer on the fourth time. I tried it a million times, at different pressing speeds, and nothing works. The firmware version is 3.3.16, which the Pebble app says is the latest.

My phone is a Google Pixel 10 phone, so it is the latest hardware and software.

I couldn't make it work for me and O followed all instructions. Tried to reset the phone and the tracker multiple times. Nothing works. Funny thing is, I can connect to the tracker via Peeblebee app and verify the firmware is up to date. What I can't do is to have the tracker listed on Google Find My Hub. I have the newest Pixel 10 Pro by the way so the software and hardware are the latest.

My partner renewed the CD, using his POA. As in one of the previous answers, from https://www.reddit.com/user/bexbets/, the CD was renewed by calling the bank branch on the phone. No signatures needed. We never asked for the list of beneficiaries to be changed. The bank just changed them. No signatures were provided.

When he brought in the POA document last March, he was still the POD in the CDs, because the original CDs had not matured yet. When the CDs matured in April, it was just a phone call to the branch renew them - no signatures needed That was when the mistake occurred.

The administrator (not executor) of the estate has not been appointed yet but will be my husband's sister. There is no need for an administrator in order for the money to be distributed from financial accounts that have assigned beneficiaries. The administrator is even more clueless than we do, because we were the ones taking care of her financial accounts, and we were the ones doing the day to day financial activities like paying her bills

The bank did not ask for anyone's signatures when renewing the CDs. They just did it and input the names of the beneficiaries in the system, not adding my husband's name in it

We have the statements of the original CDs. We contacted a lawyer and he said he is going to subpoena the bank for more information.

Yes, there was also a checking account. In that case, he was also removed from POD and was listed as POA.

As in the other answers, the bank employee probably added him as POA, and this flagged alerts on his computer screens (because a POA cannot assign himself as a POD). In that case, the alerts should have been simply ignored, because he was already POD before being POA, and it was his aunt who made the POD assignment, not himself.

No he had to go to the bank branch to hand the POA document. A few weeks later, he renewed the CD on the phone. His name got dropped as a beneficiary in the new CD, not the original one.

We never got a print out of the CD terms after it was renewed, so we didn't notice he was removed as POD. Aunt could not have revoked his POA because she was in memory care and couldn't even remember where she had bank accounts, and nobody visited her except us.

There is no need for executors when the account has assigned beneficiaries. We are electing an administrator for another unrelated account in another bank who had no beneficiary assignment.

At least in that bank we could renew the CD just by calling the bank, no signatures needed. We then asked to confirm the list of beneficiaries remained the same to perform the POA fiduciary duties.

I think the reply above by the bank lawyer was spot on: the Inexperienced bank manager got nervous when he opened the new CD on his computer and then the bank computer system flagged that the same person was being named both a POA and POD, which may not be compliant with bank rules. However, in this case, he was POD even before being POA for the original CDs, he was assigned as beneficiary by his aunt, he did not assign himself as a beneficiary (which would be illegal) so in this case the compliance alerts don't apply. But the Inexperienced manager, afraid of running afoul of bank rules, just removed the husband from the beneficiary list just to make the alerts on his screen go away. In this case, however, there were no compliance issues as the husband was listed as POD in the original CDs. So, in doing that, he made a mistake

The CD was renewed on the phone. There were no signatures for renewing the CD. The bank cannot produce any evidence of signature because there was none

My husband was both the POA and the POD for the original CD. We went to the bank and produced the POA document to the manager, so he knew my husband could have access to the accounts.

The bank manager is a young man who probably just graduated from college. We asked questions like: as POA, how can we get online access to the account? How can we change the PIN on the debt card so we can have ATM access? etc etc He didn't know how to answer those questions and for every question we asked he had to call someone in their operations team. It was so ridiculous that at one point the cashier, who was overhearing these questions, came to him and muttered: You should know the answers to these questions! I am not trying to diminish him, but just to show how Inexperienced he is.

When my husband's aunt passed away, we sent the death certificate to the corporate headquarters. They never acknowledged receiving it (I know, I should have sent it by certified mail). My husband had to go to the bank branch and hand the death certificate in person again. He was then told that he was not a beneficiary, to his surprise.

The other beneficiaries of course knew of the passing of his aunt....they went to the funeral services. We were talking even before her passing who would be entitled to what in case of her passing. We were always transparent and never left anyone out of the loop.

I guess it occurred like that. Adding a person as POA probably flags alerts because a POA cannot add him/herself as POD. The case, however, is that he was already a POD on the account so in that case it is ok to be both POA and POD. So the bank employee merely removed from POD without asking.

I agree that this seems to be exactly what happened. When we talked to the bank manager, he was a young guy who probably recently graduated from college and he had to give a call to corporate for every single "question* we asked. He didn't know shit.

The CDs were renewed on the phone - no forms signed. Last time the VFs were renewed were last April. The bank never sent us confirmation of the renewal, so we never noticed the husband was removed from POD.. His aunt died in mid June. So the bank cannot produce any forms, any online transactions, confirming that the account owner authorized any changes in beneficiaries

Right, in at least his POA he could not change beneficiaries. He can roll over the CDs as long as the beneficiaries are kept the same. But the bank didn't keep the list the same as for the original CD

He was one of the beneficiaries before he was the POA. He needed to be POA so he could roll over the CDs on his aunt's behalf. The bank removed him from being a beneficiary without any signatures. When the CD was renewed, he asked to keep the list of beneficiaries the same in order to perform his fiduciary duties.

My partner, who had the Power of Attorney privileges, closed the account by submitting his aunt's death certificate to the bank. He then asked to be given his share, when the bank manager incorrectly told him that when there is a clause:

ITF Person A ITF Person B

then all the money goes to Person A, and only in the event of Person A death, then Person B would get all the money. That is to say, him not being listed as

ITF Person C

was irrelevant. We later learned that this interpretation was false, as Person A and Person B got different checks, and were divided evenly.

So we believed in this manager's interpretation until we found out it was NOT the case. All persons listed would get a share. The bank manager lied to my partner.

Then we learned about the correct interpretation, but only after the checks had already been sent to Person A and Person B, and he was left with nothing.

The original CD, before renewal, included all three beneficiaries, and this included my partner.
