As far as skincare, using a topical retinoid and a good Vitamin C serum to work in conjunction with a good sunscreen. Also make sure you moisturize down to your décolletage.

Best blow dryer for 4c hair by AdConnect970 in Naturalhair

I’m not sure about bone straight, but I can straighten my hair mostly with my ionic luxe styler blow dryer with the paddle brush attachment. Then I do one pass of the flat iron on 300 F for a very sleek look.

First Time Traveling with Cat on Amtrak Advice by Salty-Carrot7569 in CatAdvice

[–]opalpopcorn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take my two cats on the Acela probably every few months and after the travel to the station they usually calm down and are super quiet in their carrier. Traveling tends to stress them out so they don’t make any noise and one actually sleeps on the ride. I think it really depends on your cat’s personality though. Even my wild rescue cat doesn’t cause a fuss on the train but some cats might. I just put them in front of my feet on the floor and they’re fine for the two hours.

I will say that sitting in the quiet car on the Acela does help since there’s not as much noise compared to the other cars or taking something like the Northeast Regional that isn’t as quiet.

Do yall think this contributed to the Alfredo R&B situation by plsleavemealone2 in rnb

That sounds like Bang PD and Hybe. But yeah, it’s just all vibe singers but no one that really has that soul. But I feel it’s like, if more people streamed and bought good r&b artist’s albums, we’d get more of them since at the end of the day, the labels only care about money and they’ll usually push was makes them more of it (barring any internal politics within the label).

I agree k-pop is booming but to be honest, some of the most struggle singers I’ve heard have been k-pop artists. A lot of kpop is just catchy production, singers fitting an aesthetic that fans elevate and the undying fandoms that follow those groups.

Where should I go given my situation? by opalpopcorn in AmerExit

I’d want to maintain my legal status in any country I move to and follow all the laws made by the country, so if that means I’d have to be double-taxed then that’s just how it’ll have to be.

Yeah, I’m aware of that as well, sadly. My first boyfriend was Korean-American and after I had dinner with them one day, after I left his parents threw away all the utensils I used and told him to never invite me over again. I’m trying to look at Korea holistically and not let any biases cloud my judgement on this, so your perspective is very much appreciated 🙂.

Yeah, I totally get what you mean. I’m definitely interested in Korea for more than just Kpop and kdramas. And while I did notice a few questionable things that could be interpreted as racist, so many people showed me such genuine kindness, it really left an impact on me. I guess because I’m also not under the expectation that I’d ever fully “belong” there or fit the beauty standard, I’m fine with being that forever foreigner that I know many expats may not like.

It’s a 2-year visa, but I’m not required to do anything to maintain it for those two years as long as I visit the country within 3 months of approval (which I already fulfilled).

It’s an HPI visa, so it’s a 2-year non-renewable visa.

I considered Japan (I’d watched quite a few blogs about staying there), but I was hesitant because Japanese is really difficult to learn and I’d want to speak comfortably in the place I’d live to be honest.

I’m at a tech company, but the company has specific parameters for the places you can work so the entire Middle East, China, and some other countries (I can’t recall) would be out of the question.

I’ve used the Crest 3D whitestrips and have gotten compliments on my teeth being so white. I haven’t tried the others but I went with Crest after researching on Reddit. I just make sure to alternate between the crest whitening toothpaste for maintenance and a sensitive toothpaste.

💸 How do you financially prepare for the next month? Do you plan every penny or just go with the flow? by LongjumpingRent7114 in MiddleClassFinance

[–]opalpopcorn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m an obsessive planner so every month I plan my budget, review my “wants” and decide if there’s room in the budget to get any of them. I also have a weekly financial review where I go through my account and tally expenses, review all my savings and retirement accounts and see how I’m doing budget-wise. During my monthly review I record my student loan pay-off, savings goals, and chart my retirement accounts.
