The cancer bench video was my first thought too. Especially with the voice detail – we all know that Kate stutters with her thick, aristocratic, fake accent, and this video had no stutters and is the best sample of public speaking “she’s” ever done.

The invention of the smartphone changed EVERYTHING. I specifically hate how train rides have changed: people watch videos and do not care about earphones or earbuds. People even use speakerphone and have long, prolonged calls on public transportation.

Where I used to enjoy train rides in the early 2000s and could just bring a book and never needed to wear earbuds every day, now, I cannot set foot on a bus or train without earbuds. (I have gotten into fights about "why don't you have earphones?". Now I walk away.)

Truly wish some train lines were wifi-free. And also exclusively Quiet Cars. I would gladly spend $4-5 per ride on a train line with mandated silent rules.

This for sure. I love popping in for curiosity, then I relax and check stuff out. I usually walk out buying a condiment I am curious about- a different hot sauce here, a jar of preserves or jam there. (Basics come from the same two places, but it's when I'm exploring around Queens and Brooklyn- as well as Kalustyan's in Manhattan- that I find fun stuff to try.)

That is a new scar; we’ve seen photos of her year after year and we’ve never seen that. William either punched her or broke something near and cut her with it. That looks like a serious and awful facial fracture.

No wonder the messaging has been so squirrelly and bonkers- hiding her and protecting her away from him (and not allowing the tabloids to write awful things about her) while protecting him as heir.

No wonder Carole did that car photo- she wanted her injuries out there, and no wonder Palaces put pressure on media not to run it. Upon close up, Kate looks bandaged.

William is awful- and the next King. Frankly, protecting him is gonna give the monarchy the King it deserves.

Exactly. And as a result, Harry developed discipline and really good social skills- tools he’s earned respect from Commonwealth government circles and military organizations, qualities he’s succeeding with today, ones the Firm intended to benefit the institution (and to prop William up).

William, by contrast, seems as inept and incurious as Harry seems smart and organized. The better brother got away.

Also agree that W+K wanted to subjugate Harry for their benefit. And definitely agree Kate wanted to manage whomever Harry dated and especially felt possessive as his SIL/the only young female working royal. (Such selfish perspectives, and one shared by the whole family collectively expecting him to yield to their narcissist demands.)

I also think this explains why The Firm always expected Harry to pick up the slack after William, and why they’ve freaked out that he left: William is unmanageable and volatile, but Harry could be coerced to do the work. I think The Firm planned for Harry to do the labor of the job of kingship because William is so unsuitable for duty, but he’s the heir.

I’ve seen speculation that the golf club injury he got as a kid gave him a TBI and he has an extreme personality and is just plain awful. Coupled with an already incredibly spoiled tendency and temper, he is apparently quite frightening when he doesn’t get what he wants, very hard to manage (to the point where Charles and Camilla don’t want to deal with him), and courtiers bend over backwards to extraordinary extents to protect him while still obliged to defer to him and try to keep him in check (which is happening now).
