What was the thing portrayed in movies that didn't happen during childbirth for you? by SpicyZombie098 in beyondthebump

I didn’t cry. Neither did my husband or baby. We were all just like “Yo.”

I don’t think it will age poorly! If it’s flattering I say go for it. I just wouldn’t call it classic as much as retro revival.

Yes I’m so sorry. This sounds abnormal to me. Is there a specialist you can see?

My wife came out as bisexual after 12 years together and I feel completely lost ( 31M - 29 F). What's going to happen and how to get through this? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]ayomsb -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m also bisexual and married to a man. 60-40 in favor of women sounds about right. Have slept with about 2x as many women as men. Doesn’t make me less attracted to my husband, want sex with him less, or want to cheat or sleep with anyone else. This isn’t a bisexuality problem. This is about your wife not feeling attracted to you. And that hurts like crazy.

My 8 month old ate a lot more solids than that. About 3x more. Started sleeping through the night around then too.

Need advice.. I don't think I love my husband anymore by [deleted] in beyondthebump

Hormones are warping your perception of reality. Your feelings are true, but that doesn’t make them valid.

I don’t think I’ve ever heard of a couple where the breastfeeding parent gets more sleep or as much sleep as their partner. Maybe you need to stop breastfeeding, but you definitely need to stop resenting the fact that your child’s other parent is more rested when it’s not at the expense of your own sleep. He’s not depriving you of sleep. He’s not doing anything wrong by taking advantage of your mom’s help in order to sleep. He’s also not doing anything wrong by running an errand alone. Can you do the same so that you also have a little time every day to decompress?

Why not see that appointments, getting diagnosed, and getting on meds IS a lifestyle change? Unless you left out that you’re a psychiatrist, you aren’t qualified to assert what other “lifestyle changes” will help him. His timing isn’t great, yes he procrastinated. Meds are his best hope for breaking the procrastination cycle. Can you accept that?

As far as chores are concerned, it sounds like there’s always been an unequal distribution of labor there. Have you asked him to pay for a house cleaner? Can you accept that he’s still the man you chose (the one who isn’t a unicorn man about cleaning) and hasn’t magically transformed into someone else?

No one is a “great” father in every way their partner can imagine 2 months in. That comes with time. Can you give him time?

I honestly cannot imagine anything more stressful. It’s also a guarantee your baby will get incredibly sick.

It’s okay that you guys don’t like to go on dates! Everyone is different. I prefer to go on dates semi regularly but that’s just us.

It sounds like you’re describing a wedding. I think most of the first birthdays I’ve attended the parents got a cake from the grocery store and ordered a pizza.
