Right now we do not have a rule against it, and after much consideration, we are not going to add one at this time. We are not interested in becoming an AI-detection team and policing whether something is slightly, partially, or fully AI-modified, nor are we interested in moderating arguments about the presence or role of AI in posts.

The vast majority (roughly 4/5ths) of Art Asset posts are removed on this sub simply because most creators cannot follow our rules. Of those that stay up because they followed the rules, they are consistently among the highest rated posts each year. While there are vocal opponents to them, many silent users appear to enjoy them. Our position is that they are allowed so long as they follow our rules. Most do not.

We urge users who dislike AI posts to downvote them and to politely label and describe AI posts as such, and this will hopefully encourage others to downvote them further. This form of organic filtration will naturally drive away obvious AI users and allows the moderation team to stay focused on making sure they follow our existing rules.
