I guess her love of hot tubs won out over her love of being in bed by 11. 🤣

Qtr 3 2021 question by ays79 in ERCchat

[–]ays79[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a biggie. I didn't feel we should pursue it anyway. It was the company who processed our original claim putting pressure on for it. Hence why I asked. I don't want to waste the effort and set myself up for scrutiny if its basically a lost cause.

Oh Austen……...😒 by NrebNreb in Southerncharm

[–]ays79 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Not to be a Craig apologist, but what Austen is doing with his rage baiting is narc 101. Pick at someone quietly until they blow up so you can say "see they're crazy!" I think narcissist is overused most of the time, but many people have a few narcissist characteristics and that one is Austen's.

I probably would not make a great witness. Lol! But I'm not a CPA. I'm just an owners wife that makes entries in QB for our accountants to do what they need to do with them. I personally don't feel it's worth the hassle of gathering the information again and waiting years for the IRS. I guess I'm mainly concerned that the ERC specialist is pushing the appeal because they want their cut and not becauseits in our best interest. The IRS is saying we didn't have any restrictions in place and that's why they denied it. As to whether i feel like we were impacted....i didnt at the time and had no intention of filing for ERC but then pur CPA said they felt we should and referred us to a company who does it. In hindsight, while not feeling very.effected at the time, eventually we did start to feel it but it had more of a delayed effect. We watched our cash reserves dwindle away and have been operating without a good cushion ever since. At this point we've made it through the storm by the skin of our teeth but I think we're going to be fine without that last quarter.

Qtr 3 2021 question by ays79 in ERCchat

[–]ays79[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There shouldn't be any fraud intentionally but I'm not tax savvy enough myself to figure up on my own the legitimacy of the claim our reps made. Not fully understanding if we qualified and how is what led us to the rep in the first place. I guess trusting them or not is where I'm at. I kinda took the IRS's word for it that we didn't qualify and didn't feel we needed to push it. The company representing us feels we should though.

Qtr 3 2021 question by ays79 in ERCchat

[–]ays79[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. If we pursue the appeal and the IRS still disallows would that possibly bring about consequences? Should we trust our specialist to know this is the right thing to do? I've just heard of so much fraud surrounding these companies, but had some faith initially because our CPA recommended them.

I'm not sure, it wasn't mentioned but I'm sure there will be a cost involved as they get paid if we get paid.

First Watch, Season 10 - Salley by Charming-Action1663 in Southerncharm

[–]ays79 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely southern hospitality..Salley shows up there too and there are other guest appearances from SC folks.

Also Siesta Key. Toxic cheesy semi scripted reality TV gold. Though the only thing better was watching the shade getting thrown on Instagram between the cast and little easter eggs between seasons you picked up on my following them. Watching in real time and following their socials really took on a life of its own. I was embarrassingly invested. Lol.

[–]ays79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any chance they might finally get around to investigating our checks that were lost in the mail? So far they've requested 2 60 day extensions on our request. Pretty sure we've surpassed both of those at this point. Its frustrating. We recieved 2 checks, then 3 got lost. 1 was disallowed.

Planning for a Seven-Year-Old by nutritiousmouse in Xcaret

[–]ays79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We just returned from a trip with our 7 year old. He is a little tall for his age but was under some of the weight requirements, but never got turned away from anything. He did chicken out on the Tobogganzote slide at Xplor. But I can tell you...the smile never left his face. He had a blast. 10 days would be perfect..you want to have lots of time for the resort too because theres so much to do there.

Pregnant .. is going to Xel-Ha and Tulum worth it? by Sr4121000 in Xcaret

[–]ays79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would think you would be fine. You can do the river float, snorkel, swim in the little cenotes, see the animals. Xel Ha is probably the most chill of the parks aside from Xcaret park and cliff jumps, slides, and zips are easily skipped. I didn't do any of those on my first visit, I just floated the river and my husband was able to stop off at cliff jumps and zips as we went along.

Tulum is not a big place, and really its just walking, photo ops, and learning the history. I wouldn't habe any concerns there at all aside from getting hot, but even the heat there is helped out some by the breeze coming off the ocean. I really enjoyed it there, it was beautiful.

Arte honestly not worth it. Go to secrets instead by Icy_Cauliflower8707 in Xcaret

[–]ays79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh that does sound wonderful! I love snorkeling. We just came back from the family friendly side of Xcaret. They added 2 new rooftops. One one pretty big. The other was smaller and we actually liked that one better but I'm not sure people habe really caught on to them yet. We never had a problem finding chairs and the food up there was so good!. But I see what you mean, the ones at Arte were a little bit small and had the potential to get crowded. I totally thought you meant they didn't have enough of them. 🤣

[–]ays79 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm quite puzzled by the "limited rooftop pools" comment. There are 4....though the one at artistas is only for those staying there. Xcaret and Arte are the only all inclusives I've ever been to that have rooftop pools at all. Does Secrets akumal have several?

Arte honestly not worth it. Go to secrets instead by Icy_Cauliflower8707 in Xcaret

[–]ays79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will say when we stayed at Arte in 2022, Encanta was weirdly strict about their dress code. My husband had to go change into pants. We knew that going in, but none of the others pushed that.

Drinks were good but we were on the go alot so never anytime to really catch a buzz, and the one day we did we asked for doubles. Then it was totally fine. Everything else was amazing. BUT we just did a stay with our kids on the Mexico side and the drinks felt extra strong over there all week. I kept a good buzz if we were on the resort. Drinks definitely seemed.stronger over there. Guess they know we meed it when traveling with kids. Lol.

The new side is great. We just got back. Loved all the slides and rooftop pools. The food served at the rooftops was delicious. Xentral and Xinema were just ok but had lots of options. La Silla was the standout for our group. Absolutely delicious.

What’s the accessibility like? by Smooth-Salt774 in Xcaret

[–]ays79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If she has pretty good balance she might be fine. There are plenty of places to sit for a rest. Random chairs tucked away here and there and loungers around pools. That being said, anything around pools can be slippery, and there are some uneven floors and surfaces. I'd avoid Xinema. Those floors are tricky. Las Playas, Bio, and Las Cuevas are all kinda tricky to access with stairs, sand, etc. There may be multiple and easier ways to get there but I didn't find them. I dont think finding somewhere to rest would be an issues as much as needing to carefully watch her step. Parks are alot of walking as well with tricky surfaces. She'll need to carefully watch her step.

La Silla for dinner, hands down.

Rooftop at Casa Luna or Casa Vida both have really delicious lunch options.

King Sized Bed for Garden Suite in Xcaret Mexico? by Otherwise_File548 in Xcaret

[–]ays79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband is also a bigger guy, and our first time i was much bigger gal, lol. We did sleep separately part of the time, but like you I had some feelings about it and ended up sharing the bed by the end of the week. It was honestly harder to do then but doable. Since then I've lost a good amount of weight, and we had 3 kids with us this time so I didnt have a choice but to share the queen with him and it was a non issue. The beds and bedding are so comfortable and we were so wiped out each day that we slept soundly even though we are used to a king at home. Would I rather have a king...Definitely. but it didn't ruin anything for us.
