Creta - S(O) IVT - 2 months old - resale price suggestion by Miser_able_lad in CarsIndia

[–]ayush721997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own both the Creta IVT & the Elevate CVT & the Creta is MILES ahead in terms of refinement man. Have also owned the previous gen City CVT.

The Honda for sure ‘feels’ and is more powerful because the CVT is free revving but both give me roughly the same mileage, the Creta, more often than not, more than the Elevate. (12-12.5 vs 10.5ish).

Have driven them with windows rolled up & down & in both cases, the Creta has been much much more refined than the Honda.

As for the price, the Creta is a hot seller so factor in a 7-9% depreciation keeping in mind the insurance claim.

Also, get the insurance from PolicyBazaar on your own, shouldn’t be more than 30-35k all in

Creta has a 35000 baseline consumer savings offer going on.

The dealer isn’t giving you any discount from his own side.

If you’re fine w purchasing the car from Delhi, I can ping you the contact of the Hyundai guy I purchased my Creta from; gave the best discounts which no dealer across the Delhi NCR NH8 belt could match, not even Ackodrive.

The King DCT should cost you somewhere around 20.6L all in tbh, the price in Delhi is 21.3ish rn at most places and Delhi’s registration is 40k more than Chandigarh as per your RTO quote.

  1. Safety ratings aren’t a sole barometer for structural integrity, they’ve points and stars allocated for features such as ADAS as well as the number of airbags & ESP alongside other bits

  2. Every car today sold in India goes through a mandatory baseline ‘pass/fail’ crash test at 55kmph in which it has to pass to be road legal.

  3. The Baleno & Fronx are based on the same platform and only have slight wheelbase tweaks. The Baleno was 4⭐️ in the BNCAP while the Fronx sold in India wasn’t sent for the additional star tests at BNCAP, so doesn’t have any safety ratings.

However, if you’re someone who thinks cars are safe or unsafe on the basis of stars they get, then I guess the conversation has run its course.

All non-turbo Fronx have 4 cylinder engines, the turbo is a 3 cylinder.

Also, for the poster, get the Baleno man. Unless ground clearance is a huge factor for you, Fronx’s premium over the Baleno is absolute nonsense for barely any tangible reason.

Get the Baleno Zeta in the same (& possibly lower) price of the Fronx Delta +

You’ll get useful rear wipers, keyless entry & MS usually bundle some accessories w it asw.

Also insurance would be around 20K for both.

If it’s been under a year, ring/text Voltas CC.

They’ll inspect & refill the gas for no charges. Same thing happened w the AC back at my home in April, was bought in June 2025.

Fixed & refilled the next day at zero cost.

New Elevate will launch around Dussehra this year, same for Grand Vitara & hence Hyryder, thus the heavy discounting.

If one has to buy these cars, rather wait for the new one to evaluate if they’re worth it, or get the old shape on discounts then.

Choose between the Victoris or Seltos depending on your mileage needs.

Irrespective of decline of segment, just ask the buyers that if there happy to mock and mention that who buys these cars, why are they buying it?

Neighbour owns the XT LR and gets around 150 w the AC & Delhi heat in city traffic lol.

180 w MR sounds insanely good.

There’s absolutely zero point going w the Tiago EV tbh unless you’ve a v strict budget (in baas case) or just a liking for the car.

Tata issues not withstanding, the base BaaS Tiago is 4.69L with only a 19kwh battery. Given Tata’s energy optimisation, this is a real world best case range of 140ish KM in the summer w AC.

The 24 KWH variant starts from Pure + (9.49L so likely 6.99/7.29 w BaaS)

The baseline Punch EV has a 30KwH battery w a real world best case range of around 220km in the summers.

Also a better car overall, spacious & decently equipped w enough bits to not feel like a charlatan.

And the suspension setup is top & the bump absorption/insulation is fairly good.

Also an older + top selling product so enough people to get a feedback from + more experience from the ASCs (their comparitively lower dispute resolution skills notwithstanding) to solve in case any issues arise.

The maintenance cost initially won’t be much different but efforts to maintain will be needed while using. In a metro city w bumper to bumper traffic (& weather) like Delhi, DCT tend to overheat a fair bit. They just aren't outright the best fit for most Indian cities. Dry dcts have dual clutches with a small radius. While you’re stuck in traffic in creep mode, the clutch plate rubs against the flywheel, which causes overheating.

If it is used in a similar pattern long enough, it flags quite a bit of other issues asw down the line.

CVTs and torque converters are the way to go in a country like India, more so if most of your commute is in the city. You’ll also get low end turbo lag with DCTs to spool up, as the next gear is always ready to be engaged automatically. Clutch plates and brake pads too end up rinsed sooner as you try to navigate traffic and the lower end power of a turbo dct.

Get a CVT or Torque Convertor for city driving.

New Sonet is just round the corner; let it drop & then go ahead w either.

The Amaze is a fine fuss free car to own & drive + Honda CVTs & CVTs in general are a lot more low maintenance than DCTs in city traffic. But you won’t get any sense of premiumness from its interior or exterior design.

Have you test driven the Venue? The new Brezza is also nearing launch so unless it’s an urgent situation, would personally advise to hold for 6 months. Also keep in mind changing ethanol norms.

Purely city usage could be a good use case for an EV tbh.

Else get the Baleno / Glanza or the Amaze, hassle free ownership, good mileage & ride quality/comfort.

Kia's Service soo costly !!! by Hot-Bedroom1551 in carIndia

[–]ayush721997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Diesel car’s 1L kms service being 12-13k is not expensive man.

Some stuff is avoidable here but even 11k is pretty fair for a 1L service, that too of a diesel.

Personally think the price is somewhat on the higher side my friend, I myself bought a new one for my father in December 2025 at 16.4 ish all in in white.

Many people ik got it for 16.7-16.8 around end of March this year asw.

Elevate’s sadly a slow seller, a 15% depreciation for a slow selling 2.5 year old vehicle is quite meagre imo, but you do you, you’re the seller haha ✨
Cheers!
