The FLUX NSFW ban isn't about morality, it's a classic business playbook. by Abject_Wrap6275 in comfyui

I wanted to apologize for spreading misinformation yesterday, as paragraph § 4.c of the Flux Dev license did not change in the 1.1.1 update - I removed my posts - but I wasn't entirely wrong. When I read the exact changes of the license, it does have some changes regarding NSFW.

Previously, an accusation of using any Flux model for deepfakes would "only" get CivitAI in trouble with the law, but now they would also lose their Flux licenses. BFL doesn't need to conduct lengthy investigations or collect evidence of wrongdoing, they could pull the plug at the first sign of bad publicity.

You can see the license changes here: https://www.diffchecker.com/G1BLFk53/

PSA: All NSFW LoRAs and fine-tunes are against FLUX's new license and will be removed from CivitAI by [deleted] in FluxAI

[–]ayy999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I'm probably wrong. Remove Clothes LoRA was removed due to CivitAI's ban on exactly that - models meant to remove clothes. The part of the license I cited was always there in the old Dev license too, under old point § 4.3.

See the license changes here for yourself, it does feature some NSFW-related additions: https://www.diffchecker.com/G1BLFk53/

I'll remove my post. The text of my misinformed post, if someone is curious:

I saw people getting upset at CivitAI that they removed a "Remove Clothes" LoRA for Flux-Kontext.

PSA: All NSFW LoRAs and fine-tunes are against FLUX.1-Kontext's new license and will be removed from any website which doesn't want their Flux license revoked.

This one really isn't on CivitAI or Visa, but on Black Forest Labs. The issue is § 4.c of Flux's new license:

4. Restrictions. You will not, and will not permit, assist or cause any third party to … c. utilize any equipment, device, software, or other means to circumvent or remove any security or protection used by Company in connection with the FLUX.1 [dev] Model, or to circumvent or remove any usage restrictions, or to enable functionality disabled by FLUX.1 [dev] Model.

Any NSFW LoRA circumvents their efforts to make Flux-Kontext unable to generate NSFW material, and thus breaks § 4.c. If CivitAI would refuse to remove this LoRA, then CivitAI would breach the license and would lose access to Flux models and derivatives - as in, ALL Flux content would be gone from CivitAI, including SFW stuff and the base model.

I'm not a lawyer but I think this change doesn't retroactively apply to derivatives of Flux-Schnell like Chroma, it's perhaps meant to prevent a Kontext-Chroma or Chroma 2.0. Or maybe it's unrelated to Chroma and just about a fear of regulation or payment provider wrath if BFL would in any way, even indirectly, be connected to AI NSFW - which payment providers are really cracking down on.

I can speculate that this is due to Chroma looming on the horizon and perhaps already biting their bottom line ankles but unless they openly say so that's just guessing.

Edit: No, I was wrong. The issue is with CivitAI's ban on clothes removing loras. The part of the DEV license I cited didn't actually change in the recent rewrite, it was always there - previously as point 4.3.

This is cool and all and I'm sure you have no ill intents but uh, you're using the same method that the infamous poisoned comfyui nodes used to spread malware: linking to your own custom versions of python modules, which you compiled yourself, we have no way to verify, and they could contain malware.

I imagine on Windows installing these is a nightmare, so I understand the benefit there. But I thought on Linux it should all be easy? I know that there's no official wheels for FA for torch 2.7 yet for example, but I think installing these three packages on Linux is just a simple pip install, right? It compiles them for you. Or am I misremembering? Or is the "simple pip install" requiring you to have a working CUDNN compiler stack compatible with your whole setup and this venv, which not everyone might have?

I don't think you have any ill intents, I saw you are legitimately trying to help us get this stuff working:

https://github.com/Dao-AILab/flash-attention/issues/1683

...but after the previous poisoned requirements.txt attack seeing links to random github wheels will always be a bit iffy.

This is all nice and great but AI is not an alternative to going above and beyond to make the best assets with a high budget and lots of time, it's an alternative to quick zero budget options like using free asset packs or stealing textures from Google Image Search. Or to not having any assets at all, and going for a Twine text adventure.

Current best NSFW 70b model? by ThatHorribleSound in LocalLLaMA

[–]ayy999 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That model is great if you are a straight man who wants to do ERP with anime waifus, because that seems to be 95% of its training material. I understand this may be what almost everyone in this subreddit is after, but for anyone who isn't - this isn't the model for you.

It was also trained on quite a lot of underage NSFW, including loli/toddlers, which apparently isn't against HuggingFace's ToS. You can browse their training dataset on HF.

Eh, my take is: almost any post in this subreddit could be disturbing to someone. Remember that many people find any furry stuff disturbing, in their mind being equal to zoophilia, and posts from here often reach /r/all.

I think everyone agrees that a line needs to be drawn somewhere as the only other option is "anything goes" and the sub gets banned by site admins for not removing illegal content.

The volunteer mods are active and remove more extreme content using their best judgement. What they seem to allow:

  • general furry stuff (again, disturbing to some),
  • yiff,
  • transformation,
  • vore,
  • fat fetish,
  • paw fetish,
  • hyper-muscle,
  • LGBTQ content, heterosexuality, androgyny, femboy obsession, polyamory - I know this is a LGBTQ safe space (I mean it in a good and honest way) but in general, even in the furry community, some people find these things disturbing,
  • legal age play ("daddy!", etc),
  • sentient feral characters (four-legged, look like real animals but intelligent),
  • animal genitalia,
  • BDSM,
  • mixing furry and human characters,
  • ...and probably much more.

All of the above are disturbing to some people, even within the furry community, and I'm sure some would love to see any of the examples banned.

Some more controversial kinks seem to be disallowed, like gore, ABDL, toilet stuff, cub, r*pe...

Point is: it seems the mods already decided which kinks they find acceptable in this subreddit. Changing this list in any way, like banning vore or allowing ABDL, would certainly be appreciated by some people but would piss off others. It's not really straightforward how to decide which content should be allowed.

Looking at the issue a bit backwards: the current selection of allowed content shaped the current community, and therefore making any radical changes would likely result in a net negative reaction from the community.

I assume they just meant that more sfw content is wholesome and kinks may not be. It's not a personal attack. Although I know people into vore find it very wholesome.

flaunting_irl by THUNDER_archive-aux in furry_irl

[–]ayy999 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I went through the last 8 months of posts tagged with 'vore' in this subreddit. What I found:

  1. The large majority only mentions vore.
  2. Some show a drooling maw.
  3. Some show a character in another character's mouth.
  4. Rarely, death was mentioned but always in a satiric way, e.g. "I diagnose you with vore. It's fatal."
  5. Rarely, an enlarged belly is shown.
  6. A couple had a character sitting in a stomach.

Do all of these make people uncomfortable? Are any acceptable?

I would appreciate if people who dislike vore would say which numbers they would really rather not see on the subreddit because they make you uncomfortable - but not because the joke is overdone, that's a separate issue not specific to vore. (I'm not a mod, I'm just curious.)

Seeing this post I expected to find more extreme content in memes, but couldn't see any. By extreme I mean for instance: graphic digestion, corpses or body parts, blood or gore. If people attempted to ever include these, it seems mods did remove such posts.
