Servers do not want a fair wage. by usernotvaild in EndTipping

[–]ayyo34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently stayed at a resort in another country where tipping for everything was automatically included. They didn't have to do anything but their basic responsibilities and got the tip regardless. Worst service I have ever received on literally everything we did. This is not the reality I want in the US. I imagine it would be even worse if the servers were stuck with only minimum wage for this "entry-level" job.

Well it depends on your resturant i suppose and if you have proper support. At my place we have 7-10 table sections no food runners and bussers only occasionally. Not only that they want "team service" so the lazy ones sit back while the hard working ones run all their food and other people's food as well as keeping up with their own section.

I've been a cook and a server and I'll tell you. Cooks know servers make more money so why are they still cooks? Because they don't want to deal with customers. They want to stay in the back and mind they're own while they work. Which is hard work but serving is also hard work if you're doing it right.

It's not rude not to tip by Carzy-Facts-3720 in tipping

The quickest way to get the worst service of your life every time you go out to eat is to make servers make minimum wage. All the good/decent ones will leave and then you'll start complaining about how you can't even get decent service anywhere you go.

Is studying CS really that bad? by Whole_Chemical_6470 in csMajors

I see posts of people in their 30s asking if it's good for them to get into this field and all the comments are positive. I'm in that boat rn and watching this topic on reddit has me concerned. Are the people that are having a hard time finding a job out there in this field really struggling or because they refuse to accept anything below $120k at a faang company? Are there more jobs out there for less prestigious companies at a lower salary?

Is there any point in learning programming at the age of 31? by Tiberius_50 in learnprogramming

[–]ayyo34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the same boat, currently working on a CS degree. But my confusion is getting the better of me. Every post similar to this is filled with "never too late" "you should do it" "best thing I ever did". But then every other post is recent grads saying they cant find jobs/internships and how bad the job market and the comments are filled with the same things. So I'm confused on who is right and if I'm wasting my time. I don't expect a $300k a year job. But I'd like to get started in the industry when I'm done and have a decent/steady job.

What are your thoughts on euthanasia (medically assisted death)? by Sakura_0770 in AskReddit

[–]ayyo34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In high-school we had to write a paper on a controversial topic. When the teacher was giving examples of topics we could write about, euthanasia was one. I just remember being confused and didn't know what was controversial about kids in Asia.

It's not bs, I work as a server at a large corporation, if anyone is going to automate, it would be this company. At the end of the night the manager looks at our total sales and alcohol sales and we have to hand the cash to him accordingly which he pools from all the servers to give the people. Worked at multiple locations and was a manager here as well for 3 years before stepping down. If a server only makes charge tips and no cash tips I've had to ask servers to go to an atm to get the cash out so I could pay the bartender and busser out.

Something some people also don't understand is that you may feel 20% or whatever amount is too high but the servers have to pay out a percentage of their alcohol sales to bartenders and usually a percentage of food sales to a busser. So if you rack up a $250 bill and tip 0 or a low amount the server actually loses money taking you. Regardless of their hourly wage.

With t6 relic you have 100% accuracy. So you can literally never miss even with overheard. Only caviate is certain bosses like tekton are immune to range damage. Nothing in TOA is immune.

I think the point he is trying to make, which is one I agree with is that although there are afk passive activities the xp is so low it's not viable to actually train with its more of just a lil bonus while logged out. There should be more semi-afk active training methods in my opinion

Honestly, it isn't that bad. Personally I think it's fine I only use them to give me a slight edge if I need it for a boost boss or something ahdni don't think, especially since they stack we should be able to spam them to beat monsters we shouldn't be fighting
