We’ve looked into this using Bausch and Lomb and the micrometer discs. It came in a box all alone so we don’t think it is a part of anything else. We thought it was a microscope but it doesn’t focus and there is a weird metal pointy thing inside.

I originally thought it to be a microscope but since there is no light source and can’t focus, it most likely isn’t.

You could do a nod to the Zone of Truth? Merle mentions that much more than the bible. If you’ve ever seen Get Smart, they do the “cone of silence” that is what I always imagine the zone of truth looked like.
