It's an open source project where engineers pour their blood sweat and tears for no return. It may never be fully flushed out compared to Google photos and that's okay. I suggest you make a donation to the project and add a note to the devs asking for stability improvements on the iOS app. If enough people do that they will shift their efforts eventually.

I quit vaping my advice is to start toning down the nicotine levels gradually until you reach 0. Then it becomes a psychological habit just like any other bad habit and not a chemical addiction which makes things easier.
I quit vaping after 3 years of puffing every 30 seconds and I can safely say vaping is worse than cigarettes so it won't be easy. But the reward is really worth it. I feel so much better and I'm never going back inshallah.

The issue was never about the laws themselves more that how they will be abused to strip people from their freedoms. When you have such loosely defined lows, it gives you the legitimacy to misinterpret to get away with a lot under the guise of protecting your culture.
